The Traditions Spikeless upper is constructed from high-quality full-grain leather, selected for its natural durability, supple feel, and clean classic appearance. The leather is treated to be fully waterproof, backed by FootJoy's 1-year waterproof warranty, ensuring your feet remain dry in damp morning rounds or light rain. The subtle brogue perforation detailing adds a timeless aesthetic touch while also contributing to overall breathability. The soft leather surface is easy to wipe clean after a round, requiring very little maintenance to keep the shoe looking its best. Soft EVA Midsole
The lightweight EVA (ethylene-vinyl acetate) midsole is engineered to absorb the repetitive impact of walking 18 holes, distributing pressure evenly across the foot to minimise fatigue. Unlike conventional foam insoles that compress and lose their cushioning over time, the Ortholite material maintains its loft and rebound through hundreds of rounds of use. The contoured shape provides arch support and helps guide the foot into a natural, biomechanically efficient position during the swing and while walking. It also features moisture-management properties, wicking perspiration away from the foot to keep the interior of the shoe fresh and dry throughout the round.
VersaTrax Spikeless Outsole
The VersaTrax outsole is FootJoy's purpose-designed spikeless traction platform, featuring strategically placed traction lugs and pods that grip the turf during the swing without the need for traditional replaceable cleats. The lug pattern is optimised to provide multi-directional stability during rotational movements, ensuring confident footing through the downswing and follow-through. Madison Last — Fit and Construction
The Traditions Spikeless is built on FootJoy's Madison Last, a last designed to deliver a traditional, well-balanced fit across a wide range of foot shapes. The Madison Last features a standard heel-to-instep fit that holds the rear of the foot securely in place, reducing unwanted movement during the swing. The slightly squared toe box provides a classic silhouette while offering adequate room across the forefoot for natural toe splay. The added depth of the last accommodates a variety of foot volumes and works in harmony with the padded Achilles collar to provide a snug, supportive wrap around the ankle. Available in both standard and wide widths, this model ensures an excellent fit for golfers who require a little more room across the ball of the foot.
Padded Achilles Collar
The padded collar surrounding the Achilles area is carefully engineered to prevent heel slippage and reduce the risk of blistering during extended periods of walking. Soft foam padding wrapped in a smooth interior lining cushions the back of the ankle, allowing the shoe to conform comfortably to the natural contours of the heel.
