PING G440 men's hybrid
The PING G440 Men's Hybrid delivers an exceptional combination of distance, launch and forgiveness through a new shallower and thinner face design that produces faster ball speed, a higher peak height and more stopping power on approach shots. Each hybrid in the G440 family is engineered to deliver a specific ball flight — from the slightly fade-biased 2 hybrid ideal for tee shots, through the neutral mid-hybrids, to the draw-inducing 5, 6 and 7 hybrids that integrate seamlessly into an iron set. With a new shaft-fitting option in the PING Tour 2.0 Black 90 and a Trajectory Tuning 2.0 adjustable hosel, lofts are adjustable ±1.5° and lie up to 3° flatter than standard for a truly personalised fit. Every G440 hybrid includes a headcover.
Key Features
- Shallower & Thinner Face: Face is 8% shallower and 6% thinner for higher launch and faster ball speed across the entire hitting surface.
- Free-Hosel Technology: Removes 4g from the hosel, screw and heel section, lowering the CG by 12% for increased launch and stopping power.
- Carbonfly Wrap Crown: Lightweight carbon crown saves weight that is redistributed to lower the CG, maximise forgiveness and produce a muted, pleasing sound at impact.
- Loft-Specific Designs: Each loft (2H–7H) is engineered for a distinct ball-flight bias — fade, neutral or draw — to suit different player profiles and gapping needs.
- Contoured Sole Design: Slimmer back-weight profile ensures the club sits flush at address and the face angle stays consistent across all loft and lie adjustments.
- Trajectory Tuning 2.0 Adjustable Hosel: 8-position hosel allows loft adjustment of ±1.5° and lie up to 3° flatter than standard for dialled-in ball flight.
- Multi-Material Construction: Head combines stainless steel, maraging steel and carbon to optimise weight distribution, CG location and overall performance.
- High Launch (HL) Option Available: HL builds (3H–7H) with aluminium back weight and PING ALTA Quick shaft designed for slower swing speeds seeking more speed and height.
- Includes Headcover: A matching headcover is included with every G440 hybrid to protect the club during transport and storage.
Technology in Detail
Free-Hosel Technology & Low CG
The G440 hybrid's redesigned Free-Hosel removes 4g of mass from the hosel, screw and heel section across all loft configurations. This weight saving lowers the centre of gravity by 12% compared to the previous generation. Combined with the reduced face height, the lower CG increases launch angle and stopping power without any sacrifice in ball speed. The result is a hybrid that launches higher, lands softer and holds greens more consistently — a critical combination for long-iron replacement clubs.

Carbonfly Wrap Crown
The Carbonfly Wrap crown is a lightweight carbon-fibre panel integrated into the top of the clubhead to save significant mass. This saved weight is strategically redistributed to lower the centre of gravity and push it further back, increasing the moment of inertia (MOI) for greater forgiveness on off-centre strikes. The carbon construction also plays a key acoustic role: it dampens vibrations at impact to produce the muted, satisfying thump at the ball that PING hybrids are renowned for — confident feel combined with proven technology.

High Launch, Fast Face
The G440 face is 8% shallower than its predecessor, encouraging golfers to naturally contact the ball higher on the face — exactly where launch angle is maximised. At the same time, the face is 6% thinner with an optimised profile that flexes more through impact to drive ball speed higher in the centre of the face. Critically, the face wrap construction — high-strength maraging steel wrapping into the sole and crown — preserves ball speed on off-centre strikes so that mis-hits still travel impressive distances. The combination of higher launch and controlled spin delivers shots that fly further and stop faster.

Contoured Sole Design
A slimmer back-weight profile gives the G440 hybrid a more contoured sole that sits cleanly and flush at address regardless of the loft or lie position set in the adjustable hosel. This consistency means the face angle remains precisely where you set it — no unwanted opening or closing as you dial in different loft positions. Golfers who rely on the full range of the Trajectory Tuning 2.0 hosel adjustments benefit from this stability, because every loft and lie combination presents the same clean address position and reliable face angle through impact.

Loft-Specific Designs
Unlike a one-size-fits-all approach, PING has engineered every loft in the G440 hybrid range to deliver a distinct ball flight tailored to the golfer most likely to play that club. The 2H (17°) is slightly fade-biased with a lower, more penetrating trajectory — ideal for off-the-tee performance where control and distance are paramount. The 3H (20°) and 4H (23°) have 1° more loft for a higher launch with a neutral ball flight and greater stopping power on the green. The 5H (26°), 6H (30°) and 7H (34°) provide a slight draw bias and high launch to help the ball fly straighter and fill the gap precisely between mid-irons and fairway woods.

PING-Engineered Shaft Options
The G440 hybrid is available with a carefully curated selection of PING-engineered and premium third-party shafts to suit every swing speed and launch preference. The counter-balanced PING ALTA CB Blue 70 is lighter to help increase clubhead speed with a mid-high to high launch — ideal for players seeking extra carry. The PING Tour 2.0 Black 90 offers a low-to-mid launch with low spin, making it the right choice for higher swing speeds. The PING Tour 2.0 Chrome 85 provides a low-to-mid ball flight with control and accuracy. The Project X Denali Red is a balanced option delivering a mid-high launch suited to moderate tempo swings. The Mitsubishi Tensei 1K Black 85 is a low-launch, low-spin shaft engineered to keep torque low at faster swing speeds.

These are design specifications that may vary due to manufacturing tolerances. Lie angle is an average of the five adjustable loft positions indicated on the hosel. Achievable swingweights depend on shaft, length and grip combinations. Standard swingweight for the High Launch (HL) build is C7. The HL build is available in the 3H–7H. Available in left- and right-handed models.
G440 High Launch (HL)
For players with slower swing speeds who want more clubhead speed, higher launch and greater distance, the G440 HL hybrid is engineered specifically for them. HL models (3H–7H) feature a lightweight aluminium back weight, the ultra-light PING ALTA Quick shaft and a Lamkin UTx Lite grip — a combination designed to help generate faster swing speeds, launch the ball higher and reach more greens in regulation while stopping the ball closer to the pin.
