How to Use the Drill-Stix
Method 1 – Putting Gate
Place two rods parallel to each other on either side of the ball, spaced at least one putter-head width apart. The rods act as guide rails for your putting stroke, giving you instant feedback on the direction and path of your putter face through impact. This simple gate drill is one of the most effective ways to groove a consistent, repeatable putting stroke and eliminate unwanted lateral movement in your stroke path.
Method 2 – T-Shape Alignment
Position two rods perpendicular to each other to form a T or cross shape on the ground. This setup helps you check and correct your swing direction, ball position, and stance alignment simultaneously for a wide range of shots – from short irons through to driver. Adjust the position of the perpendicular rod closer to or further from your feet to suit different clubs and shot types.
Method 3 – Swing Reference Points
Push one or more rods into the ground to create reference points and guides for the correct position of your hands or club at different stages of the swing.
