Description

Cleveland HB Soft 2 RETREVE women's putter (no headcover)

A completely new head configuration from Cleveland Golf — and the very first Cleveland putter with the ability to retrieve your ball from the hole, or easily from any other surface, without having to bend down, giving your back, knees, and hips a well-deserved break. Make no mistake, though: this is not just some gimmick stick. The RETREVE has been carefully designed to perform with all the same technology, accuracy, stroke-specific design, and consistent swing feel as every other putter in the HB Soft 2 line. Designed specifically for ladies, it arrives in a 32" length with a dedicated Women's HB SOFT grip and includes a head cover.

No headcover included.

  • Ball Retrieval Design: Innovative head configuration lets you pick the ball out of the hole or off any surface without bending — a genuine benefit for your back, knees, and hips.
  • Speed Optimized Face Technology (SOFT): A dynamic groove milling pattern normalizes ball speed across an enlarged striking area for consistent, predictable distance — even on off-center hits.
  • Stroke-Specific Setup: Face Balanced with a Single Bend hosel, matched to a straight stroke type for a complete, synced putting system out of the box.
  • 3-Line Alignment System: Three alignment lines on the crown simplify aiming, helping you set up square to the target line with confidence at address.
  • Ladies-Specific Fit: Available in a 32" length tailored for women's putting posture and eye position, ensuring a natural, comfortable setup over the ball.
  • Women's HB SOFT Grip: Fitted with the dedicated Women's HB SOFT grip in Standard size (.580", 91 g) for a confident, comfortable feel throughout the stroke.
  • Head Cover Included: Ships complete with a matching head cover to protect your investment between rounds.

Technology in Detail

RETREVE Ball Retrieval Technology

The RETREVE is Cleveland Golf's first-ever putter engineered with built-in ball retrieval functionality — no more stooping after every hole. A specially designed aperture in the mallet head allows you to slide the putter under the ball and lift it cleanly from the cup or off any surface without bending. Far from a novelty, this innovation has been integrated without compromising the structural integrity, balance, or feel of the head. Golfers with mobility challenges or back and knee issues will find the RETREVE a genuine game-changer on the course.

Speed Optimized Face Technology (SOFT)

SOFT is Cleveland Golf's proprietary dynamic groove milling system applied to the face of every HB Soft 2 putter. The milling pattern is most densely clustered at the center of the face and gradually opens up toward the heel and toe. This progressive variation reduces the amount of metal surface contacting the ball in the sweet spot and increases it toward the perimeter, effectively equalizing ball speed across the entire striking area. The result is more consistent distance control even when contact is slightly off-center — a key advantage for amateur golfers who rarely hit the perfect putt every time.

Stroke-Specific System: Face Balanced & Single Bend Hosel

Cleveland Golf's HB Soft 2 philosophy is built around matching every component to a specific stroke type. The RETREVE is configured for a straight stroke: it is Face Balanced (zero toe hang), fitted with a Single Bend hosel, and paired with a grip and alignment system chosen specifically for this stroke pattern. Face Balanced putters hang with the face pointing skyward when balanced on a finger, meaning the face naturally returns square at impact without the golfer needing to manipulate the hands. This makes it ideal for players who putt along a straight back-and-through path.

Ladies-Optimized Specifications

The Cleveland HB Soft 2 RETREVE Ladies Putter is purpose-built for women golfers. The 32" shaft length is shorter than standard men's models, encouraging proper posture, correct eye position over the ball, and a natural pendulum stroke. A dedicated Women's HB SOFT grip in Standard size (.580", 91 g) provides a comfortable, confident hold that complements the slightly lighter swing feel. With a head weight of 365 g, a loft of 3°, and a lie angle of 70°, all specifications have been dialed in as part of a complete, cohesive ladies putter system.

3-Line Alignment System

Accurate alignment is one of the most critical — and most often overlooked — elements of consistent putting. The RETREVE features a clean 3-line alignment scheme on the crown of the mallet, designed specifically to complement its straight stroke type and Face Balanced setup. The three parallel lines make it easy to aim the putter face squarely at the intended target line, reducing pre-stroke doubt and enabling a more committed, repeatable putting motion. Together with the face-balanced head and stroke-matched hosel, the alignment system completes a fully integrated package tuned for straight-stroke golfers.
