Technology in Detail

Waterproof Performance Mesh Upper

The upper of the FootJoy Flex XP is constructed from a lightweight functional mesh that delivers exceptional breathability while remaining fully waterproof. This combination ensures that your feet stay cool and dry across all 18 holes, regardless of morning dew, light rain, or damp course conditions. The material is engineered to flex naturally with the foot during the swing, reducing restrictions and improving overall comfort during long rounds.

VersaTrax Outsole

The VersaTrax outsole is purpose-built for the demands of the golf course. Featuring a network of specialised traction elements, it provides confident grip during the swing while remaining comfortable to walk in between shots. The outsole performs equally well on manicured fairways and when walking to and from the course, making it a genuinely versatile spikeless solution for active golfers who value both function and flexibility.

Soft EVA Midsole

A soft EVA (ethylene-vinyl acetate) midsole sits between the upper and the outsole, providing a responsive layer of cushioning that absorbs impact with every step. This enhanced underfoot cushioning reduces fatigue during a full round of golf and supports the natural movement of the foot. Combined with the stable outsole platform, the EVA midsole contributes to a balanced, confident stance throughout the swing.

Athletic Fit and Construction

The FootJoy Flex XP features a fully rounded toe box that accommodates the natural shape of the foot without restriction, a full fit across the forefoot for comfort during the weight transfer phase of the swing, and a narrower heel fit for improved lockdown and stability. This thoughtful construction blends athletic styling with practical golf-specific ergonomics, making the Flex XP a shoe that looks great and performs even better.
