The Oakley Holbrook XL sunglasses in matte black combine classic lifestyle design with the performance of premium sports golf eyewear. The larger XL size delivers a wider field of view and a more comfortable fit for medium to larger faces, so the frames sit securely even during a dynamic swing. The lightweight O Matter™ frame is durable, comfortable for all-day wear and stays stable while walking the course.
The main benefit is the special Prizm Dark Golf lens, developed specifically for golf. It enhances the contrast between fairway, rough and green, makes the ball stand out against the grass and is optimised for bright, sunny days when standard lenses tend to wash colours out. It transmits less light than the classic Prizm Golf, providing better eye protection while still delivering crystal-clear perception of terrain contours and distances.
The Holbrook XL is an ideal choice for golfers who want one pair of sunglasses for both the course and everyday wear — iconic shape, top-tier optics and a specialised golf lens combined in a single model.

Prizm™ is an innovative Oakley lens technology that fine-tunes vision for specific environments and sports. It enhances the colours to which the human eye is most sensitive when perceiving detail, improving performance and safety without the compromises of conventional lenses. For the first time, lenses have been designed specifically for individual sporting activities.
A darker version of the dedicated golf lens designed for bright, sunny conditions when standard lenses overload the eye with light. It boosts contrast between fairway, rough and green, makes the ball pop against the grass and lets only 23% of visible light through — protecting your eyes while preserving clear perception of terrain.
HDO® is a collection of patented Oakley technologies that meet and exceed the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) test standards for optical clarity, visual fidelity and impact resistance. The result is razor-sharp vision across the entire lens surface, with no distortion at the edges.
O Matter™ is a lightweight, injection-moulded and specially treated material with high flexibility and resilience. It is exceptionally durable, holds its shape and is resistant to UV radiation, so the frame will not darken or degrade with prolonged sun exposure.
Thanks to specially developed filters, Prizm™ lenses remove the optical "noise" from light that interferes with colour differentiation. You can think of the technology as an ultra-precise colour tuning designed specifically for the environment of your sport or activity.
Conventional sunglasses are like a volume control: when you turn the volume down, all sound frequencies are reduced at the same time, without fine tuning. A stereo equaliser, by contrast, lets you adjust bass and treble in specific parts of the spectrum. Prizm™ works the same way in the light spectrum — it precisely fine-tunes individual parts of the colour spectrum and selectively enhances those colours that matter most for your activity. The result is more natural colour perception, more detail and a clearer, higher-contrast view.
Standard sunglasses simply darken everything. Some lenses improve contrast, but they are designed for a broad range of activities and environments and therefore involve compromises. They lack the fine colour tuning required for a specific use. Just as the equipment you use for your sport is purpose-built, the lens in your sports eyewear should be too — and with Prizm™ you achieve exactly that.
To play golf at a high level, you need to read the light transitions on the course correctly, judge distances accurately and have a good eye for the grass surface. With Prizm™ lenses, separating colours becomes easier, and on the green you can more readily distinguish the properties of the turf, its grain and surface texture.
Every environment places unique demands on our vision. Prizm™ was developed with the needs of specific sports and environments in mind. Seeing the world in the right colours means being able to distinguish things as they truly are and to recognise potential hazards more quickly. An ordinary lens tries to achieve this by simply adding contrast, but that can alter colours. The colour balance of Prizm™ lenses is sophisticated, and the main benefits are not just increased contrast but also better colour perception and razor-sharp visual clarity.
Objects in your peripheral field of view are also a challenge because they hit the part of the eye where there are fewer colour-distinguishing cells. By targeting the right colours, Prizm™ also targets the right cells — those that matter most for your sport and its environment. The result is precise, detail-rich vision that translates directly into better on-course performance.
