Technology in Detail
Windproof Double Canopy Technology
The double canopy design is the centrepiece of this umbrella's engineering. By incorporating a secondary inner canopy beneath the main outer canopy, wind pressure that would normally invert or collapse a standard umbrella is instead vented safely through the gap between the two layers. This dramatically reduces the aerodynamic stress on the frame and ribs, keeping the canopy stable and correctly positioned even during strong gusts. The result is an umbrella you can trust to stay open and perform reliably throughout an entire round, round after round.
Fibreglass Shaft Construction
The shaft is constructed from fibreglass rather than steel or aluminium, which brings two key advantages to the golfer. First, fibreglass is naturally flexible under load, allowing the shaft to absorb wind-induced stress without cracking or snapping as a rigid metal shaft might. Second, fibreglass is significantly lighter than steel, reducing the overall weight of the umbrella so it is comfortable to carry during an 18-hole round. The combination of flexibility and low weight makes the fibreglass shaft an ideal choice for a golf umbrella designed to perform in variable conditions.
Easy Open and Close System
Getting your umbrella up quickly when a shower arrives — or packing it away when the sun returns — should never be a struggle. The PGA Tour Windproof Double Canopy features a smooth, reliable open and close mechanism that operates with minimal effort, even with one hand. This is particularly useful on the course where your other hand may be holding a club or your bag. The runner glides cleanly along the shaft and locks securely in the open position, so there is no risk of the canopy collapsing unexpectedly mid-round.
Golf Bag Compatible Design
Unlike oversized umbrellas that are awkward to transport around the course, this 62-inch model is designed with the golfer's practicality in mind. The compact folded profile means it slides neatly into the umbrella holder or side pocket of virtually any standard golf bag — cart bag, stand bag, or tour bag — without protruding or catching on other equipment. This makes it effortless to keep your umbrella with you at all times, ready to deploy at a moment's notice when the weather changes.
