Practice Modes
The Square Golf Simulator offers four dedicated practice and game modes, each designed to target a specific aspect of your game. From driving range warm-ups to competitive multi-player rounds, every session delivers immediate, data-rich feedback to help you improve faster.
Driving Range Mode
Practice your golf shots on a realistic virtual driving range. Choose between two display modes — Graphic Mode for a visual ball-flight representation and Data Mode for a detailed numerical read-out. Ball data captured includes ball speed, direction, launch angle, spin (backspin and sidespin), apex, carry distance, roll, and total distance. Club data includes swing path, face angle, dynamic loft, and angle of attack, giving you a comprehensive picture of every swing.
Putting Practice Mode
Sharpen your putting skills with realistic green simulations. Practice putts from distances of 5 to 50 feet (approximately 1.5 m to 15 m). Green speed is fully adjustable from Stimp 8 to Stimp 13 to replicate a wide range of real course conditions. After every putt, receive detailed feedback on distance, speed, and trajectory so you can quickly identify and correct weaknesses in your putting stroke.
Game / Multi-Game Mode
Step onto some of golf's most famous courses and compete in a variety of game formats. Choose from up to 10 beautifully rendered 3D golf courses, with a further 10 courses arriving soon. Set green speed and tee position to match your preferred conditions, then play with up to 4 players simultaneously. After each shot, the system provides detailed shot feedback so every player can track their performance throughout the round.
Closest to Pin Mode
Refine your approach shots across a variety of practice scenarios. Target distances are adjustable from 30 to 150 yards (approximately 27 to 137 m). Green speed is configurable from Stimp 8 to Stimp 13. After every shot you receive instant feedback on distance, trajectory, and how close your ball landed to the pin, making this mode ideal for dialling in your wedge and short-iron game.
Quick and Easy Setup
To set up the Square Golf Launch Monitor, place it on a flat surface at the same height as the golf ball. Make sure the monitor is positioned in a room with little or no direct sunlight, as strong natural light can affect tracking performance — the front of the launch monitor should not face directly toward a window or sunlight source. The device captures ball and club data using high-speed cameras and a built-in infrared LED illumination system.
For accurate measurements, position the ball in the designated launch area. The centre of this area should be 42 cm in front of the monitor (when facing the device) and 23 cm to the right. The tolerance and size of the launch area is 15 cm x 15 cm.

High-Speed Camera & Machine Vision Technology
At the heart of the Square Golf Simulator is a high-speed 3D vision camera paired with advanced machine vision processing. The system captures the precise moment of impact and the milliseconds immediately following it, analysing both ball and club simultaneously. This technology delivers highly accurate data without the need for radar, making it possible to use the device in smaller indoor spaces such as garages and spare rooms. The infrared LED lighting built into the unit ensures consistent capture regardless of ambient lighting conditions.
Comprehensive Ball Data
Every shot is measured across eight key ball parameters: ball speed, direction, launch angle, spin rate (including backspin and sidespin), apex height, carry distance, roll distance, and total distance. This level of detail enables golfers at every level to build a precise understanding of how their swing translates into shot shape and distance, making it straightforward to identify patterns and areas for improvement over time.
Full Club Data Capture
In addition to ball data, the Square Golf Launch Monitor records four critical club parameters at impact: swing path, face angle, dynamic loft, and angle of attack. These metrics provide an in-depth look at what the club is doing through the hitting zone — information that was previously only available through expensive professional fitting systems or on-course coaching sessions. With this data readily available after every shot, targeted practice becomes significantly more efficient.
Realistic 3D Course Simulation
The Square Golf software renders 10 ultra-realistic 3D golf courses, with a further 10 courses planned for release in the near future. The courses are displayed with high-quality computer-generated graphics that create an immersive playing environment. Multiple camera angles allow you to watch ball flight from different perspectives, and the software dynamically adjusts to your performance in real time. Green speed settings and tee position options can be configured before each round to replicate specific course conditions.
System Requirements
If you are using a PC or laptop, you will need Windows 11 or Windows 10 (version 2004, OS build 19041 or later) to run the Square Golf software. For those using a mobile device or tablet, the requirements are as follows: Android 10 or later for Android users, and iOS 13 or later for iPad and iPhone users. The device connects wirelessly via Bluetooth to your phone, tablet, laptop, or PC.
