Play the most forgiving irons in the Titleist lineup. The T400 is the super distance Titleist iron — engineered to get the ball in the air and launch it as far as possible, even when the strike is not perfect. Designed to help moderate swing speed players score lower, the T400 delivers an unprecedented combination of easy launch, maximum distance, and outstanding forgiveness, all while retaining the look, sound, and feel that dedicated Titleist players demand.
Every aspect of the Titleist T400 is engineered to produce greater playing distance — starting with the incredibly fast Super Thin L-Face. Unlike a conventional iron face, the lower edge of this ultra-thin face wraps around the sole of the club, maintaining ball speed even when impact is made lower on the face. The result is explosive distance and consistency across a wider strike zone. Masterfully fused with a confidence-inducing head shape, it makes faster feel effortless — so every swing delivers maximum energy to the ball.
Up to 100 grams of high-density tungsten is strategically integrated into the heel and toe of the 5, 6, and 7 irons, where moderate swing speed players need the most help. This extreme tungsten loading drops the centre of gravity (CG) to its lowest possible position, working in combination with the Super Thin L-Face to produce explosive, high-trajectory launch off the turf. The result is shots that fly higher and carry farther, even when club head speed is moderate — giving you more distance with less effort.
One of the greatest challenges in designing a wide-body iron is preserving smooth turf interaction without the club digging or catching at impact. The Titleist T400's innovative split sole solves this problem elegantly — it preserves all the performance benefits of the wide body shape while allowing the club to glide through the turf with the ease of a player's iron. The result is a smooth, easy strike from virtually any lie, helping moderate swing speed golfers make cleaner contact more consistently.
The full hollow head construction of the T400 is a game-changer for forgiveness. By freeing weight from the interior of the club head, Titleist engineers can redistribute mass around the perimeter — heel, toe, and sole — to produce an exceptionally high Moment of Inertia (MOI). This means that even when the ball is struck off-center, the club head resists twisting and the shot flies longer and straighter. For golfers who don't always find the sweet spot, the T400's hollow construction is the ultimate safety net.
Titleist engineers have carefully optimised each iron in the T400 set individually — not just scaled one head up or down. Progressive blade lengths, sole widths, and hosel lengths ensure that the CG is positioned optimally for each specific iron in the set. Long irons feature wider soles and lower CG for maximum launch assistance, while shorter irons deliver more control and accuracy. The outcome is a complete, cohesive set where each club is performing at its best for the shot it is most commonly used for.
The stock Mitsubishi Fubuki MV 50/45 graphite shaft is purpose-built for the T400, designed specifically to promote higher ball speed through its ultra-lightweight, iron-specific graphite construction. The "MV" designation stands for Maximum Velocity — a shaft engineered to help moderate swing speed players unlock extra distance by increasing club head speed without adding physical effort. Available in A-flex (Light) and Regular flex options, it allows golfers to choose the profile that best matches their natural tempo and swing speed.
