The Torsvi's main body panels are constructed from a 20-denier by 20-denier softshell weave in 100% Polyester. This ultra-fine, densely woven construction creates a smooth, durable surface that resists abrasion while remaining remarkably lightweight. The softshell fabric provides inherent wind resistance and, combined with the integrated 10K/10K membrane, delivers reliable weather protection suited to demanding outdoor conditions. Its slim profile ensures the jacket layers cleanly under a shell or wears comfortably as the outermost layer on milder days.
Strategic stretch inserts made from 92% Nylon and 8% elastane (180 g/m²) are placed along the sides and across the back of the jacket. This intelligent hybrid construction allows the Torsvi to flex and extend with every arm lift, stride, or twist — eliminating the stiffness common to traditional shell jackets. Whether you're reaching for ski poles, hiking uphill, or cycling a trail, the stretch panels ensure the jacket adapts to your body's motion rather than restricting it. The nylon-elastane blend is also highly durable and retains its shape wash after wash.
Bonded behind the softshell outer, the integrated 10,000 mm / 10,000 g/m²/24h membrane is the engineering heart of the Torsvi. A 10,000 mm water column rating means the jacket resists sustained rain pressure — more than sufficient for hiking, skiing, and everyday wet-weather commuting. The 10,000 g/m²/24h breathability rating ensures that perspiration vapour can escape outward, preventing that clammy, overheated feeling during active use. The result is a jacket that actively manages your microclimate, keeping you dry from both external moisture and internal sweat.
The outer softshell surface is finished with a PFC-free Durable Water Repellent (DWR) treatment — a fluorocarbon-free formulation that causes rain and snow to bead up and roll off the fabric before it can saturate the outer layer. Unlike older PFAS-based DWR treatments, this environmentally responsible alternative delivers excellent water-shedding performance without the long-term ecological impact. Regular care (tumble drying on low heat or a light iron) will reactivate the DWR coating and maintain peak water repellency over the garment's lifetime.
