The Callaway Paradym Ai Smoke HL (High Launch) Hybrid 2024 is engineered specifically for golfers with moderate to average swing speeds who want to maximise carry distance through a higher, easier ball flight. Powered by Callaway’s breakthrough Ai Smart Face technology and featuring an oversized, shallow profile, this 4-hybrid (21°) slots perfectly into the bag as a long-iron replacement that delivers effortless launch from fairway, rough or tee. This listing is a DEMO unit in used condition (4/10) with no headcover included – an excellent opportunity to pick up a premium club at a fraction of the retail price.
Callaway’s Ai Smart Face is designed using machine learning trained on swing data from thousands of real golfers – capturing swing speed, club delivery, and face orientation at impact. The result is a face with micro-deflection zones that optimise launch angle and spin rate across a wide area, not just the centre. In the HL model specifically, these parameters are tuned to prioritise height and carry distance, making it one of the most forgiving and consistent hybrid faces Callaway has ever produced.
The Paradym Ai Smoke HL distinguishes itself from the standard Ai Smoke hybrid through its shallower face profile and larger overall footprint. This geometry lowers the centre of gravity and increases the moment of inertia, making the club easier to get airborne and more stable on mishits. The pronounced sole camber further enhances versatility, allowing the club to glide cleanly through a variety of turf conditions without digging.
A dense tungsten Speed Cartridge is positioned low and toward the front of the clubhead to shift the centre of gravity into an optimal position for maximum ball speed and controlled spin. This low-forward CG placement works in harmony with the Ai Smart Face to produce a powerful, penetrating trajectory that maximises carry without sacrificing control on approach shots.
The stock Project X Cypher 2.0 60 IR/HYB is an ultralight graphite shaft in the 60-gram weight class, delivering a high-launch, high-spin profile perfectly matched to the HL head. Its 5% lighter graphite weave (versus the original Cypher) maximises swing speed potential while maintaining mid-section stability for consistent shot shape. The shaft is bend-profile matched to the corresponding wood shaft, ensuring a seamless transition throughout the bag.
