Technology in Detail
SofFOAM Cushioning Technology
The SofFOAM midsole is FootJoy's softest and most responsive cushioning platform, engineered specifically for the demands of walking the golf course. It absorbs the repetitive impact of each step while returning energy to the foot, reducing fatigue over a full round. The result is a plush underfoot sensation that does not sacrifice stability at address or through the swing. Whether you walk 18 holes or ride and walk between shots, SofFOAM keeps your feet feeling fresh from the first tee to the final green.
Pittards Chromoskin Premium Leather Upper
Pittards Chromoskin is widely regarded as one of the finest performance leathers in footwear. This premium material is processed using a unique chrome-free tanning technique that results in a leather that is exceptionally soft, naturally flexible, and highly durable. When combined with the high-performance coated mesh panels on the Quantum, it creates an upper that breathes well in warm conditions, conforms to the shape of the foot over time, and maintains its refined appearance round after round. The pairing delivers both the structured support expected of a golf shoe and the relaxed athletic style of a modern trainer.
100% Waterproof Construction
The FootJoy Quantum is engineered with full waterproof protection across the entire upper, ensuring that early morning dew, light rain, or wet rough cannot penetrate to your sock. FootJoy's waterproofing technology seals the shoe without compromising breathability or the soft feel of the Chromoskin leather. This means golfers can play with confidence in variable British and European conditions knowing their feet will remain dry and comfortable throughout the round. The waterproof warranty covers the full construction of the upper, giving long-term peace of mind.
DuraMax Rubber Outsole with Versatile Traction
The DuraMax rubber outsole is a proven FootJoy platform designed for long-lasting grip and all-surface adaptability. Its multidirectional traction pattern provides confident footing during the swing and while navigating uneven terrain, slopes, and wet fairways — all without the need for traditional metal or plastic spikes. The spikeless profile means the Quantum transitions naturally from the course to the clubhouse or even casual everyday wear, making it one of the most versatile shoes in the FootJoy range. The rubber compound is selected for exceptional durability, so grip levels remain consistent season after season.
Flex Last Rounded Toe Profile
The Flex Last construction shapes the FootJoy Quantum around a rounded toe box that mirrors the natural contour of the foot. This provides extra room across the forefoot, preventing the pinching and pressure points that can build up over a long round. The rounded profile also contributes to the shoe's athletic aesthetic, aligning it visually with contemporary sports footwear. Combined with the SofFOAM midsole and the flexible Chromoskin upper, the Flex Last ensures the shoe bends and moves naturally with the foot throughout the golf swing and during walking, creating an unrestricted freedom of movement that golfers will appreciate from the very first wear.
