The FootJoy HyperFlex men's golf shoes are engineered for players who demand maximum stability, a modern athletic design, and all-day comfort on the course. The sleek, sport-inspired silhouette combines technically advanced construction with a performance-first philosophy, delivering an ideal balance of flexibility, support, and power transfer at every stage of your round.
The upper is crafted from FootJoy's ControlKNIT technical knit material — lightweight, breathable, and resistant to dirt and moisture. The midsole features the StratoFOAM cushioning system, which effectively absorbs impact during each step while simultaneously returning energy to reduce fatigue over an 18-hole round. Swing stability is reinforced by PowerPlate technology, which channels rotational forces into the ground for improved motion control and a more powerful, balanced swing.
The spiked outsole is equipped with Pulsar LP cleats, providing reliable traction across a wide range of on-course conditions. Underfoot comfort is further enhanced by the OrthoLite® Rebound & Recovery FitBed® insole, which maintains long-lasting cushioning and arch support throughout the round. Technology in Detail
ControlKNIT Upper
The ControlKNIT upper uses a proprietary spiral-knit construction that wraps the foot in a lightweight, form-fitting layer of technical fabric. The knit pattern is engineered to provide just the right amount of stretch and structure, keeping the foot comfortable without sacrificing lateral support. The surface treatment adds durability and makes the shoe easy to clean after a round in wet or muddy conditions. The result is an upper that feels more like a performance trainer than a traditional golf shoe, encouraging a natural, uninhibited swing motion.
StratoFOAM Midsole
StratoFOAM is FootJoy's specially formulated cushioning compound, tuned specifically for the demands of golf. Unlike generic EVA foams, StratoFOAM is calibrated to absorb the repetitive heel-strike impact of walking an 18-hole course while simultaneously returning energy to reduce cumulative foot fatigue. The midsole maintains its cushioning properties throughout the round, so the shoe feels as comfortable on the 18th green as it did on the 1st tee. PowerPlate
PowerPlate is an integrated plate technology within the outsole that is specifically designed to maximise energy transfer during the golf swing. By capturing and channelling the rotational forces generated through the downswing and follow-through, PowerPlate provides a more stable, grounded platform from which to drive through the ball. Golfers will notice improved balance and a greater sense of connection to the ground, particularly during aggressive swing sequences. The technology works in tandem with the OptiFlex outsole to ensure that stability during the swing does not compromise walking comfort between shots.
TruFIT Heel System
The TruFIT system addresses one of the most common comfort issues in golf shoes — heel slippage during the swing. An integrated thermoplastic saddle and heel counter wrap around the rear of the foot, providing a precise and secure fit without relying solely on lace tension. Slipping on the shoe is effortless thanks to the easy-entry design, while once laced, the heel sits firmly and naturally within the cup. This eliminates the micro-movements that can cause blistering during a long round and ensures that every ounce of power generated in the swing is transferred efficiently rather than lost to instability.
Pulsar LP Cleats by SoftSpikes®
The spiked outsole of the HyperFlex is fitted with Pulsar LP (Low Profile) cleats by SoftSpikes®, one of the most trusted names in golf cleat technology. The low-profile design sits closer to the ground than traditional spikes, reducing the sensation of walking on studs while delivering excellent grip on turf, wet grass, and firm fairways. The cleats are fully replaceable using the standard Fast Twist® 3.0 system, meaning worn cleats can be swapped quickly without specialist tools. This extends the effective life of the shoe considerably and ensures consistent traction round after round.
OrthoLite® Rebound & Recovery FitBed®
The removable OrthoLite® Rebound & Recovery FitBed® insole provides a further layer of comfort and biomechanical support beneath the foot. OrthoLite® foam is renowned in the footwear industry for its open-cell structure, which resists compression over time and maintains loft and cushioning wear after wear. The Rebound & Recovery formulation specifically targets the needs of golfers who spend several hours on their feet, helping to reduce soreness and fatigue in the arch and heel. The insole is also moisture-wicking and antimicrobial, keeping the interior of the shoe fresher over the life of the product.
