The brilliant 1.2-inch colour touchscreen AMOLED display puts every key piece of information right in front of you. Distances to the green, hazards, and layups across more than 43,000 courses worldwide are displayed with outstanding clarity in all lighting conditions, from bright midday sun to overcast autumn afternoons. The vivid colours and sharp contrast make reading distances at a glance genuinely effortless, letting you focus entirely on your next shot.
Approach S44 shows you precise distances to the front, middle, and back of every green, giving you the confidence to select the right club every time. The hazard view instantly highlights all bunkers, water hazards, and layup points so you can visualise the hole, weigh up your options, and commit to the smartest play available — reducing costly mistakes and building a more strategic approach to every round.
With an active Garmin Golf membership you unlock enhanced CourseView maps for every hole, detailed green contour data, and PlaysLike distances that account for slope and elevation. The Touch Target feature lets you tap any point on the hole map to receive an instant, accurate distance to that exact location — invaluable when laying up or threading through a tight fairway corridor. These premium features transform the watch from a simple GPS device into a genuine on-course caddie.
Pair the Approach S44 with optional Approach® CT10 club sensors (sold separately) to automatically record every shot without any manual input. The sensors detect impact and log which club you used, giving you a precise shot-by-shot breakdown of your round. Over time you build a detailed picture of your strengths and weaknesses, helping you understand which clubs deliver consistent results and where targeted practice will make the biggest difference to your score.
Recording your score has never been simpler — just tap to log each hole directly on the watch as you play. After the round, sync your data to the Garmin Golf™ app to review advanced statistics including fairways hit, greens in regulation, putts per round, and much more. The app also calculates your updated handicap index automatically, saving you time and giving you a clear, long-term record of your progress as a golfer.
Stay connected without being distracted. Once paired with your iPhone or Android smartphone, the Approach S44 delivers smart notifications — including emails, text messages, calendar alerts, and app notifications — directly to your wrist. Leave your phone safely in the cart or your bag and never miss an important message while still keeping your full attention on the game in front of you.
