Description
Golf Pride MultiCompound Cord Plus4 Grip – Standard, Red/Grey
The Golf Pride MultiCompound Cord Plus4 is the next evolution of the long-time favourite MultiCompound New Decade grip. This innovative hybrid grip combines a corded upper section for a firm, reliable hold even in wet or challenging weather conditions, with a softer, more comfortable lower section in the bare-hand area that enhances feel and feedback throughout the swing. Compared to the MultiCompound New Decade, the new Plus4 design features a wider lower section, reducing the need for excessive grip pressure and helping golfers achieve more consistent, relaxed swings and better overall performance. A new rubber compound also absorbs unwanted vibrations more effectively, delivering a smoother, more refined sensation at impact.
Key Features
- Hybrid design: corded upper half for secure contact in all weather conditions
- Softer lower section for enhanced comfort and feel in the bare hand
- Plus4 wider lower profile reduces excessive grip pressure for a more relaxed swing
- New rubber compound absorbs vibrations for a smoother, more refined feel at impact
- Suitable for irons, hybrids, and woods
- Standard size — 0.60 Round core, 52 g weight
Technology in Detail
Corded Upper Section
The upper half of the MultiCompound Cord Plus4 grip is embedded with cord material that bites into the gloved hand for a firm, confident connection between the player and the club. This corded texture maintains its grip properties even in rain, humidity, or sweaty conditions, making it an ideal choice for players who frequently play in variable or challenging weather. The cord construction helps prevent the club from twisting through impact, delivering greater accuracy and control from shot to shot.
Soft Lower Section for Enhanced Feel
The lower portion of the grip, where the bare (ungloved) hand rests, is crafted from a softer rubber compound that offers a more cushioned and tactile experience. This dual-material approach means golfers do not have to compromise between a secure upper hold and a comfortable lower feel — the Plus4 delivers both simultaneously. The softer lower zone also helps reduce hand fatigue over a full round, keeping players comfortable from the first tee to the final putt.
Plus4 Wider Lower Profile
Compared to its predecessor, the MultiCompound New Decade, the Plus4 features a wider lower section that effectively builds up the grip diameter in the lower hand area. This design philosophy encourages less grip pressure throughout the swing, which is a key factor in generating greater clubhead speed and achieving more consistent ball striking. By promoting a relaxed grip, the Plus4 helps players unlock more distance and control, making it a popular choice among golfers looking to refine their technique.
Vibration-Absorbing Rubber Compound
Golf Pride has incorporated a new rubber compound into the Plus4 that is specifically formulated to absorb more of the unwanted vibrations transmitted from the clubface through the shaft and into the hands at impact. This results in a noticeably smoother, more refined sensation, especially on off-centre strikes where vibrations are at their most jarring. The improved damping properties help golfers stay comfortable over a full round of play and provide cleaner feedback that makes it easier to assess the quality of each shot.
