Technology in Detail

Fresh Foam® Midsole

The Fresh Foam® midsole is New Balance's signature cushioning platform, delivering an exceptionally soft underfoot feel that golfers notice from the very first step. Engineered with a 10 mm heel-to-toe drop, it balances natural ground contact with premium shock absorption. The foam compound is tuned to compress evenly underfoot, reducing fatigue during long rounds. At the same time, it provides enough resilience to push back with each stride, keeping energy levels up throughout 18 holes.

FantomFit® Construction

FantomFit® is a precision-engineered overlay system bonded directly onto the mesh upper, adding targeted structural support without adding weight. It wraps the midfoot and forefoot to prevent unwanted movement during the rotational forces of the golf swing, while remaining flexible enough not to restrict the natural flex of the foot. The result is a shoe that feels almost custom-moulded to the foot, offering confidence-inspiring stability whether you are walking the fairway or standing over a critical putt.

Water-Resistant Performance Mesh Upper

The upper is constructed from a lightweight performance mesh treated for water resistance, forming a protective barrier against morning dew, light rain, and wet rough. Unlike fully waterproof membranes that can feel stiff and warm, this breathable mesh construction allows air to circulate around the foot, helping to regulate temperature and moisture through a full round. Pressure-Mapped Spikeless Outsole

The spikeless rubber outsole has been designed using pressure-mapping data to identify the high-load zones of the foot during the golf swing and place traction lugs precisely where grip is most needed. Away from the course, the flat profile of the spikeless sole transitions effortlessly to hard surfaces such as the clubhouse, car park, or restaurant, making these shoes genuinely all-day wearable.

Cush+® Insole

The removable Cush+® insole sits directly underfoot and provides an additional layer of cushioning to complement the Fresh Foam® midsole beneath it. It is contoured to follow the natural arch of the foot and distributes impact forces evenly across the heel and forefoot at the moment of ground contact. The insole can be replaced with a custom orthopaedic insert if preferred, making the shoe a practical choice for golfers with specific biomechanical requirements.

Bungee Lacing System

The integrated bungee lacing system replaces traditional laces with an elastic cord and a quick-pull adjuster, allowing the fit to be dialled in precisely with a single motion. This eliminates the risk of laces coming undone mid-round and ensures an even, consistent pressure distribution across the instep. The system is particularly convenient when changing shoes at the car before and after a round, saving time without sacrificing the secure fit that the golf swing demands.
