Technology in Detail
Lightweight Performance Mesh Upper
The Flex features a lightweight, high-performance mesh upper engineered to keep your feet cool and comfortable throughout your round. The breathable construction allows air to circulate freely, reducing heat build-up even on warm days. The flexible mesh conforms naturally to the shape of your foot, providing a glove-like fit without sacrificing structural support. It's a material choice that balances athletic responsiveness with the durability demands of the golf course.
Enhanced Underfoot Cushioning
Superior underfoot cushioning absorbs the impact of every step, making long walks on the fairway far more comfortable. The cushioning layer works in tandem with the EVA midsole to reduce fatigue over 18 holes, so your focus remains on your game rather than your feet. This elevated comfort level makes the FootJoy Flex an excellent choice for golfers who prefer to walk the course.
Versa-Trax Rubber Outsole
The proprietary Versa-Trax rubber outsole is engineered to deliver reliable, multi-directional traction across a variety of surfaces — from manicured fairways and wet rough to cart paths and clubhouse floors. The spikeless traction pattern grips the turf during your swing while remaining comfortable and non-marking on hard surfaces. This makes the FootJoy Flex a genuinely versatile shoe that transitions seamlessly between the golf course and everyday environments.
Soft EVA Midsole
The soft EVA (ethylene-vinyl acetate) midsole sits at the heart of the Flex's comfort story. EVA foam is prized in athletic footwear for its ability to compress and rebound with each stride, providing cushioning that doesn't break down prematurely. In the Flex, the midsole also contributes to the shoe's stability during the golf swing, helping to keep your stance grounded and balanced through impact. The result is a shoe that feels as good after 18 holes as it did on the first tee.
