Draw bias for straighter shots and longer carry. The PING G430 SFT (Straight Flight Technology) HL fairway wood is engineered for golfers who struggle with a slice and want to move the ball right-to-left without making complex swing changes. The larger, draw-biased head produces right-to-left shot correction, generates more ball speed, a higher launch, and longer carries — all while sharing the same core technologies as the G430 MAX: Carbonfly Wrap, FaceWrap, and Spinsistency. The HL (High Launch) build adds a lighter overall package specifically designed to help players with slower swing speeds generate more clubhead speed for greater ball velocity and higher launch. Available in 3W, 5W, and 7W.
Ideal for:
Carbonfly Wrap introduces an ultra-lightweight composite crown that extends into the heel and toe sections of the skirt. This innovative construction saves approximately 10 grams of weight compared to a conventional steel crown, and PING strategically relocates that saved mass lower in the head. The result is a lower centre of gravity (CG) positioned closer to the force line, which maximises ball speed and produces higher, longer carries. The composite material also contributes to a refined, pleasing impact sound. Increased MOI from the redistributed weight means greater forgiveness on off-centre strikes, so more shots stay on line and reach the green.
FaceWrap Technology uses a variable-thickness, high-strength maraging steel face that wraps into the sole and crown of the stainless steel head. By extending the face material beyond the traditional hitting area, PING engineers allow more of the face structure to flex at impact, creating a trampoline-like effect that rockets the ball forward. This greater flex generates faster ball speed and produces a higher launch angle, directly translating to more carry distance. The variable thickness is precisely engineered across the face so that even shots struck towards the edges benefit from elevated speed and launch.
Spinsistency gives the face a variable roll radius, creating reduced effective loft in the lower portion of the face. This innovative geometry improves performance across the entire hitting area, particularly on thin shots that strike low on the face where spin typically spikes and distance is lost. By reducing spin on these strikes, Spinsistency keeps ball speed high and maintains a more penetrating, efficient flight. The end result is consistently longer shots regardless of exactly where on the face contact is made, improving both distance and dispersion for the average golfer.
The Trajectory Tuning 2.0 hosel is a lightweight, aerodynamic sleeve that provides 8 adjustable positions for fine-tuning ball flight. Loft can be adjusted ±1.5° from the standard setting, and lie angle can be set up to 3° flatter than standard, giving a fitter or player extensive control over trajectory and shot shape. The Trajectory Tuning Chart (printed on the hosel) makes it straightforward to understand the effect of each position, so you can optimise your setup for maximum distance and accuracy without sacrificing the draw-bias benefits of the SFT head.
The HL build is a carefully balanced assembly designed specifically for players with slower swing speeds who need help generating more clubhead speed. A 5.5 g aluminum backweight keeps the overall head mass light, the PING ALTA Quick graphite shaft (available in 35-flex weighing 38 g, and 45-flex weighing 44 g) provides a high-launch, smooth-loading profile, and the 41 g Lamkin UTx Lite grip reduces total club weight further. Together, these components allow golfers to swing faster, achieve higher ball speeds, and launch the ball on a steeper, more carry-efficient trajectory — all while retaining the draw-correcting geometry of the SFT head.
The SFT (Straight Flight Technology) head is larger than the standard G430 fairway wood, and its internal weight distribution is deliberately biased toward the heel. This promotes a lighter swingweight that helps the face rotate to a square — or slightly closed — position through impact, producing the right-to-left correction that eliminates the slice for right-handed players. A tungsten backweight extends perimeter weighting to further elevate MOI, ensuring that even mishits deliver respectable distance and stay on a playable line. The combination of draw bias, high MOI, and forgiving face technologies makes this one of the most player-friendly fairway woods in the G430 family.
