The PING G440 MAX fairway wood delivers increased ball speed, higher launch and exceptional forgiveness from any lie, and is available in five lofts including a new 4-wood for more gapping options between your driver and irons. A taller face adds confidence off the tee while the center of gravity (CG) position is preserved to deliver high-launching performance from off the deck as well. A Free Hosel design and Carbonfly Wrap crown lower the CG, increase forgiveness on mis-hits, and contribute to a more muted, pleasing sound at impact. Loft is adjustable within a ±1.5° range and can sit up to 3° flatter than standard, letting you dial in your preferred ball flight.
Weight saved through the Free Hosel design, together with the Carbonfly Wrap crown, helps position the center of gravity (CG) low in the head. A lower CG makes it easier to launch the ball high off the turf and increases forgiveness across the face, so mis-hits still hold their line and distance.
The maraging-steel face is taller and optimized through the heel and toe for faster ball speed and more consistent performance on off-center strikes. A taller face profile also builds confidence at address, especially when hitting off the tee.
The Carbonfly Wrap crown saves weight compared with a standard steel crown. That saved weight is redistributed lower in the head to help lower the CG, increase forgiveness, and contribute to a more muted, pleasing sound at impact.
A slimmer back-weight profile, shared across every G440 fairway wood, helps the head sit flush at address. The face angle stays consistent regardless of how the adjustable hosel is set for loft or lie.
The addition of a MAX 4-wood lets you further fine-tune the gapping in your set, adding more performance and versatility to your bag. It is one of the reasons higher-lofted PING fairway woods have become increasingly popular on tour.
The counter-balanced Alta CB Blue shaft is lighter, helping increase clubhead speed for a mid-high to high launch. Tour 2.0 Black offers a low launch and low spin, suited to faster swing speeds, while Tour 2.0 Chrome delivers a low-to-mid ball flight with control and precision.
