Draw bias for straighter shots and longer carry. The PING G430 SFT (Straight Flight Technology) fairway wood is engineered for golfers who struggle with a slice and want to move the ball from right to left — without complicated swing adjustments. The SFT's larger, draw-biased head produces right-to-left shot correction, generates more ball speed, a higher launch, and longer carries, all while benefiting from the same key technologies as the G430 MAX: Carbonfly Wrap, FaceWrap, and Spinsistency. Available in 3-wood, 5-wood, and 7-wood.
Best suited for:
The G430 SFT (Straight Flight Technology) features a larger, draw-biased clubhead engineered with a lighter swing weight than standard fairway woods. This lighter construction helps players square the face at impact more consistently, promoting automatic right-to-left shot correction. Ideal for golfers who fight a chronic slice, the SFT produces a natural draw bias without requiring any swing change. The forgiving profile also maintains a high MOI for consistent off-center performance.
Carbonfly Wrap introduces an ultra-lightweight composite crown that wraps into the heel and toe sections of the skirt. This innovative construction saves approximately 10 grams compared to a traditional steel crown — weight that PING strategically relocates lower in the head. The result is a lower center of gravity (CG) that sits closer to the force line, maximizing ball speed and producing higher, longer carries. The composite material also contributes to a pleasing acoustic response at impact.
FaceWrap Technology uses a variable-thickness, high-strength maraging steel face that physically wraps into the sole and crown of the stainless steel head. Because the face material extends beyond the traditional face perimeter, a larger area of the club is able to flex at impact. This increased flexing generates a more efficient trampoline effect, transferring more energy into the ball for faster ball speed, a higher launch angle, and greater distance — even on off-center strikes.
Spinsistency gives the face a variable roll radius that creates progressively less loft in the lower portion of the face. This design addresses one of the most common distance killers in fairway woods: the ballooning effect that occurs when the ball is struck low on the face, causing excessive spin. By subtly reducing loft on low-face contacts, Spinsistency keeps spin in check, resulting in faster ball speeds and consistently longer, more predictable outcomes across the entire hitting area.
The lightweight, aerodynamic Trajectory Tuning 2.0 hosel sleeve offers 8 positions to customize ball flight for maximum distance and accuracy. Loft can be adjusted by ±1.5° from the standard setting, while the lie angle can be set up to 3° flatter than standard. This versatility allows a fitter or golfer to dial in the optimal trajectory for their specific swing, course conditions, and desired shot shape — all without any modifications to the shaft or grip.
The HL (High Launch) variant is purpose-built for players with slower swing speeds who need maximum launch and ball speed. A 5.5-gram aluminum backweight keeps the overall head weight low, while the PING Alta Quick shaft (available in 35-flex and 45-flex) promotes effortless, higher-launching swings. The 41-gram Lamkin UTx Lite grip further reduces total club weight, allowing golfers to generate more clubhead speed for faster ball velocity and a higher launch angle off the tee or fairway.
