Scotty Cameron introduces OC — Onset Center — a new approach to low-torque putter design that delivers maximum stability and a square-to-path stroke without sacrificing the legendary feel and feedback the brand is renowned for. The Studio Style Fastback OC extends the beloved 2025 Fastback mid-mallet platform into the low-torque realm, pairing a tour-validated OC neck configuration with a Studio Carbon Steel face insert, multi-material construction, and a custom KBS x Scotty Cameron black shaft. Every detail — from the chain-link face milling to the custom Matador grip — is engineered so that players moving from standard putters can adapt instantly and feel the difference from the very first putt.
Low-torque putters attract golfers with their stability, higher overall weighting, and the consistency they promote throughout the stroke. However, they have traditionally come at a cost: feel — especially the responsive, connected feel needed on longer putts, breaking putts, pressure putts. Scotty Cameron's answer is OC. By positioning the shaft precisely in line with the putter head's front-to-back center of gravity, with just 1° of forward shaft lean, the Fastback OC minimizes torque and keeps the face square to the stroke path while preserving the unmistakable feel that defines every putter to carry the Scotty Cameron name.
"Onset Center" describes the precise shaft position that defines this putter: the shaft is set back behind the putter head's leading edge (Onset) and placed exactly in line with the head's front-to-back center of gravity (Center). The straight shaft leans just 1° forward, promoting a neutral hand position and a completely unobstructed view of the topline at address. This configuration minimizes torque across the full arc of the stroke, helping the face stay square to the stroke path from takeaway through impact. The result is Scotty Cameron's lowest-torque design to date — one that gives golfers who play standard putters an easy, natural transition to the benefits of low-torque performance without relearning their stroke.
At the heart of the Fastback OC's exceptional feel is the Studio Carbon Steel (SCS) face insert, treated with an electroless nickel plating for enhanced durability and finished with aerospace-inspired vibration damping technology. The insert is chain-link milled across the entire face — a signature Scotty Cameron texture that controls the interaction between clubface and ball at impact. The result is a soft, consistent sound, a responsive feel that keeps the golfer connected to the stroke even on off-center hits, and the type of smooth, end-over-end roll that tour professionals and elite amateurs demand. Unlike many low-torque designs that feel dead or disconnected, the SCS insert preserves full sensory feedback.
The Fastback OC is built from a combination of 303 stainless steel and 6061 aircraft-grade aluminum — two materials chosen specifically for their weight, feel, and precision-machining characteristics. The 303 stainless steel body provides the rounded mid-mallet profile and the structural backbone of the head, while the black anodized 6061 aluminum heel-toe inlay and sole plate serve a dual purpose: they shift mass to the perimeter of the head, significantly increasing the moment of inertia (MOI) for superior stability on off-center strokes, and they create a two-tone visual contrast that doubles as a perpendicular alignment aid. The combination of materials produces a measurably more forgiving head compared to previous generations while keeping overall weight precisely dialed in for each available length.
Because OC models carry heavier head weights than standard Scotty Cameron putters — approximately 10 grams heavier to preserve feel and connection through the stroke — a standard putter shaft simply would not provide the correct flex profile. Each Fastback OC is fitted with a custom black KBS x Scotty Cameron shaft, engineered specifically for these models with flex properties precisely matched to the heavier head weight for optimal stability, unimpeded alignment, and precise tactile feedback. Complementing the shaft is the custom 11-inch midsize Matador grip, featuring a debossed chain-link texture in black with racy red and cool gray accents — a grip that reinforces the OC's modern, tour-ready aesthetic while providing a secure, confident feel in the hands.
