Description

TaylorMade Hi-Toe 5 Aged Copper men's wedge, graphite

The TaylorMade Hi-Toe 5 is a landmark release in the iconic Hi-Toe franchise — and for the first time in its history, it is fully forged. Engineered for golfers who demand maximum versatility, spin, and feel from every lie, the Hi-Toe 5 combines a premium soft carbon steel forged body with full-face saw-milled grooves and a choice of five precision sole grinds. Available in a stunning Aged Copper finish with a stock UST Recoil DART graphite shaft, this wedge delivers tour-level short game performance for players seeking a lighter, more responsive setup.

  • First-Ever Forged Hi-Toe Construction: Each Hi-Toe 5 is fully forged from premium soft carbon steel — a first for the Hi-Toe line — delivering world-class feel, precise feedback, and ultra-tight manufacturing tolerances on every shot.
  • Full-Face Saw-Milled Grooves: Aggressive saw-milled grooves extend heel-to-toe across the entire clubface, including the expanded high-toe area. Steeper sidewalls and sharper internal radii maximize friction at impact for more spin and control from any lie, whether center-face, off the toe, or with an open face.
  • RAW Face & Spin Tread Technology: A RAW face finish is combined with laser-etched micro-channels (Spin Tread Technology) that redirect moisture away from the impact zone at contact — working on the same principle as automotive tire tread — delivering consistent spin and ball-to-face friction in both dry and wet conditions.
  • Five Precision Sole Grinds: Choose from ATS (all-around four-way cambered sole), ATV (concave sole with asymmetric bounce for flop shots), ATX (three-ledge sole for stability and forgiveness), ATW (high-bounce for steep swings and soft conditions), and ATC (low-bounce for tight lies and shallow attacks) — covering the full spectrum of swing types and turf conditions.
  • Confidence-Inspiring Hi-Toe Profile: The signature expanded toe area creates a larger overall face profile and raises the center of gravity, promoting a lower, more controlled ball flight with penetrating trajectory and consistent spin from all approach distances.
  • UST Recoil DART Graphite Shaft: The stock graphite option features the 80-gram UST Recoil DART shaft with Dual Action Recoil Technology, engineered for efficient energy transfer, consistent distance, and precise ball flight — ideal for players seeking a lighter overall build.

Technology Deep-Dive: What Makes the Hi-Toe 5 Different

Forged Soft Carbon Steel Body

For the first time in the Hi-Toe franchise, the Hi-Toe 5 is built on a fully forged platform — the same construction method used in TaylorMade's acclaimed Milled Grind 5 (MG5) wedges. Forging from soft carbon steel delivers a softer, more responsive feel at impact and allows for greater precision in shaping the head geometry. The result is consistent, tour-quality feedback that helps you dial in distance and trajectory shot after shot.

Saw-Milled Full-Face Grooves

The Hi-Toe 5 employs the same saw-milled groove technology introduced in the MG5, now extended across the entire face — from heel to the very tip of the expanded toe. Unlike conventional milling, saw-milling produces grooves with steeper sidewalls and sharper internal radii, dramatically increasing friction at impact. The full-face coverage means the grooves are active whether you strike the ball center-face, high on the toe, or with a wide-open face around the greens.

RAW Face + Spin Tread Technology

Spin consistency across all conditions is achieved through a dual system. The RAW face finish (unplated metal) is engineered to increase spin in both dry and wet environments. Layered on top, Spin Tread Technology uses laser-etched micro-channels integrated across the face to redirect moisture away from the contact point at impact — the same principle used by automotive tire treads displacing water on a wet road. The combined effect is reliable ball-to-face friction and maximum spin, no matter the morning dew or rainy-day conditions.

High-Toe Profile & Elevated CG

The signature expanded toe area of the Hi-Toe 5 serves two key purposes: it creates a larger face profile that provides added forgiveness and confidence at address, and it positions the center of gravity higher in the head. A higher CG promotes a lower, more penetrating ball flight — a characteristic favored by Tour professionals like Tommy Fleetwood — giving you consistent trajectory control and reliable spin on full approach shots and finesse plays alike.

Five Sole Grind Options

With five distinct sole grinds — ATS, ATV, ATX, ATW, and ATC — the Hi-Toe 5 family covers every golfer's needs. The ATS features a four-way cambered sole for versatile performance across open and closed face positions. The ATV offers a concave sole with asymmetric bounce and a beveled leading edge for smooth turf interaction on flop shots. The ATX uses a three-ledge sole for stability, forgiveness, and a quick exit through the turf. The ATW is the high-bounce option designed for steep attack angles or soft playing surfaces. The ATC (available via custom order) targets tight lies and shallow swing paths.

UST Recoil DART Graphite Shaft

The graphite-shafted variant is equipped with the 80-gram UST Recoil DART, featuring Dual Action Recoil Technology for efficient energy transfer at impact. This shaft is ideal for players who prefer a lighter overall club weight, whether due to swing speed, comfort, or joint considerations, without sacrificing wedge feel or control. The club is finished with a SuperStroke Crossline 2.0 grip in a proprietary black and copper colorway that complements the Aged Copper head finish.
