The TaylorMade P•UDI Utility Iron is built for the better player who wants to reclaim their long-iron game without compromising on looks or workability. Drawing direct inspiration from collaboration with Tour professionals, the P•UDI combines a classically shaped iron head — one that instantly inspires confidence at address — with the internal technologies needed to deliver explosive distance, penetrating trajectory, and consistent feel shot after shot. Whether you are bridging the gap between your fairway wood and your scoring irons, or replacing a hybrid you never fully trusted, the P•UDI is the utility iron that plays and looks exactly like the blade-style iron you want in your hands.
From a shaping perspective, the P•UDI features a traditional iron profile with a raised face height, slimmer toplines, and notably less offset than previous TaylorMade UDI products. The blade length is measurably shorter than the P•DHY — by approximately five millimetres — giving the head a more compact footprint that appeals to the discerning eye of the better player. Despite that compactness, the P•UDI remains extremely forgiving, thanks to its advanced internal construction and precision tungsten weighting.
The P•UDI is shaped with the demands of Tour-calibre players firmly in mind. It features a raised face height and slim toplines that immediately communicate precision and control at address. Compared to previous TaylorMade UDI products, the offset is noticeably reduced, giving the club a cleaner, more blade-like appearance that better players prefer. The blade length is approximately five millimetres shorter than the P•DHY, making the overall footprint more compact — yet despite this smaller profile, the club remains extremely forgiving thanks to its sophisticated internal architecture. This is a utility iron that looks like a blade but performs like a distance weapon.
Every iron in the P•UDI lineup is engineered with individual mass optimization, meaning each loft has its own precisely calculated internal weight distribution. The advanced thick-thin back wall construction, combined with a sound stabilization bar, ensures that mass is placed exactly where it is needed to maximize forgiveness and produce a premium forged feel. No two irons share an identical internal structure — each gram is strategically positioned to achieve specific launch, trajectory, and feel targets for that particular loft. The result is an iron that feels like it was made exclusively for the number stamped on its sole.
The P•UDI is built around a forged hollow body construction that uses a forged 4140 high-speed steel face as its performance engine. This hollow cavity allows engineers to redistribute body mass freely and position tungsten precisely, while the forged face delivers the responsive, solid feel at impact that better players demand. The overall architecture unlocks face flexibility levels that a solid forged iron simply cannot achieve, meaning you get the look and feel of a player’s iron with the ball speed and forgiveness of a much more distance-oriented design.
SpeedFoam Air™ is an ultra-light urethane foam that is injected into the hollow cavity of the P•UDI head. Its primary role is to act as a support structure for the forged face, allowing engineers to design a thinner, more flexible face than would otherwise be structurally possible. As the face deflects through impact, SpeedFoam Air™ manages vibration frequency and amplitude, tuning the sound and feel of the strike to deliver a crisp, solid sensation that players associate with premium forged irons. The weight savings from using this ultra-light foam are reinvested into the tungsten weighting system to further optimize launch conditions.
The Thru-Slot Speed Pocket™ is a precision-engineered slot milled into the sole of the P•UDI that dramatically increases face flexibility, particularly on low-face strikes where ball speed is typically lost. By allowing the lower portion of the face to flex more freely at impact, the Speed Pocket preserves ball speed and distance across a wider portion of the face, ensuring that shots struck slightly below the centre still deliver a penetrating trajectory and respectable distance. This technology is critical in a utility iron where precise contact can be challenging and consistency across the face is a must.
Up to 26 grams of tungsten is strategically loaded into the sole of the P•UDI to pull the centre of gravity low and deep within the clubhead. This low, deep CG placement promotes the penetrating, mid-launching ball flight with controlled backspin that skilled players want from a utility iron. At the same time, positioning significant mass in the lower and rear sections of the head increases the moment of inertia, delivering greater forgiveness on off-centre impacts without adding visual bulk to the profile. The result is a compact iron that punches well above its weight in terms of distance and forgiveness.
The P•UDI and P•DHY models share a modern aesthetic built around a pearl satin body finish paired with a mirror-polished black crown running down the centre. This two-tone treatment gives the iron a premium, refined appearance that sits naturally alongside the rest of the P-Series iron lineup. The shaping of each iron has been developed to flow seamlessly from the long irons through to the scoring irons, presenting a cohesive set aesthetic that appeals to the discerning player who demands that every club in the bag looks as good as it performs.
The new internal weighting structure of the P•UDI is designed to deliver easy launch, increased forgiveness, and enhanced consistency in a single compact package. It combines proven technologies including the forged hollow body construction with a 4140 high-speed face, SpeedFoam Air™, the Thru-Slot Speed Pocket™, and up to 26 g of tungsten weighting. Together, these technologies work in concert to create a utility iron that is equally at home filling the gap at the top of a player’s iron set and delivering the controlled, penetrating trajectory that Tour-inspired players need when precision matters most.
