The softest Tour ball now features revolutionary microcoating technology for maximum flight consistency — plus ClearPath Alignment™ Pix design for peak performance and visual control. The TaylorMade TP5 pix golf balls represent the latest generation of the iconic five-layer Tour ball trusted by elite players including Rory McIlroy and Collin Morikawa. Completely re-engineered from core to cover, the 2026 TP5 delivers higher ball speed, improved wind performance, and even more consistent results across every club in the bag. The key innovation is microcoating — a revolutionary paint application process that solves the problem of excess paint pooling in the dimples, ensuring a more precise and predictable trajectory on every shot.
Compared to the firmer TP5x, the TP5 offers a softer Tour feel, a mid-to-low driver launch with a penetrating trajectory, and very high spin and control around the green — making it the ideal choice for golfers who want a combination of distance, soft feel, and maximum shot-shaping ability.
The visual experience is handled by ClearPath Alignment™ Pix — bold, full-coverage, high-contrast graphics that:

TaylorMade's engineers discovered that with traditional paint finishing processes, excess paint tends to pool in the bottom of the dimples, creating an uneven application across the ball's surface that can compromise aerodynamics and lead to inconsistent ball flight. The all-new microcoating process applies an ultrathin, perfectly uniform layer of paint across the entire surface of the ball — thinner than a human hair — so the Tour Flight Dimple Pattern performs exactly as it was designed to. The tangible result for golfers is predictable full-shot dispersion: optimised peak height, consistent distance, tight left-to-right accuracy, and reliable performance especially in the wind. Cure times, temperatures, and paint atomisation are all precisely controlled down to one-millionth of a gram of total paint used.

The 2026 TP5 employs TaylorMade's largest Tour core to date, which reduces contact time at impact and helps retain more energy within the ball at the moment of strike. The result is a faster ball and longer shots from the driver and long irons, without sacrificing the soft feel that TP5 players expect. Layer changes throughout the five-layer construction further support this speed gain, with each layer contributing to a seamless transition from raw power off the tee to delicate control in the short game. TaylorMade created more than 100,000 digital prototype variations using advanced R&D tools to find the optimal construction that maximises distance, spin and consistent performance.
The TP5 utilises five precisely engineered layers — a large Tour core, three mantle layers and a cast urethane cover — that allow fine-tuned control of ball speed, spin and launch height for every type of club in the bag. From the driver, the construction produces mid-level spin and high ball speed for maximum carry distance. With mid and short irons it generates higher spin and improved control. Around the green with wedges, the five-layer system enables aggressive stopping power and the ability to execute delicate trajectory shapes with ease. This progressive spin separation between clubs is the defining advantage of the TP5's multi-layer architecture.

The re-engineered Tour Flight Dimple Pattern features all-new dimples that, combined with the microcoating finish, promote a more predictable, penetrating ball flight with optimised peak height and increased accuracy. The new dimple geometry is designed to reduce aerodynamic turbulence and optimise the lift-to-drag ratio, resulting in a slightly lower, more piercing trajectory compared to previous generations — ideal for players who want to keep the ball under the wind while still achieving full Tour distances. Together, the new dimples and microcoating represent a complete aerodynamic system working in harmony to deliver tighter shot dispersion on every full swing.
The thinner, softer cast urethane cover of the TP5 delivers outstanding spin and feel in the short game. Chip shots, pitch shots and lob shots all benefit from a pronounced bite, and the ball pulls up quickly near the hole. The cast urethane material generates a high-friction interaction with wedge grooves, giving skilled players the ability to control trajectory and spin rate with precision. Despite its softness, the cover maintains excellent durability for a full round of play, so performance does not diminish from the first tee to the final green.
