UA Storm is Under Armour's signature water-repellent finish applied directly to the fabric. It causes water to bead up and roll off the surface rather than soaking through, so you stay dry during unexpected showers or early-morning dew on the fairway. Crucially, the technology does not block the fabric's pore structure, meaning breathability is fully retained — moisture vapour from exertion can still escape outward. You get weather protection and comfort in a single, lightweight layer.
The body of the Daytona HZ is constructed from a lightweight, smooth spacer fabric that provides a controlled layer of insulation without the weight or rigidity of a traditional fleece. The three-dimensional knit structure traps warm air close to the body while allowing moisture to wick away from the skin. Across the sleeves, back, and body core the fabric is cut generously, giving full freedom of movement for a golf swing or an active stride — stretch and mobility are built into the construction itself.
Strategically positioned woven overlay panels on the front of the garment act as a targeted windshield, blocking cold gusts in the areas most exposed during activity. Behind those overlays sits an Armour Fleece® lining — Under Armour's soft, brushed interior fabric that provides a noticeable step up in warmth and next-to-skin comfort. Together, the woven shell and fleece lining create a hybrid construction: wind-resistant on the outside, cosy and plush on the inside, without adding excessive bulk.
The Storm Daytona HZ is cut in Under Armour's Loose fit — a fuller silhouette designed to accommodate base layers underneath without feeling restrictive. The half-zip opening at the collar runs generously long, making it easy to pull on over a shirt or vest and equally easy to vent when you warm up on the back nine. Ribbed elastic cuffs at the wrists complete the design by locking the sleeve length in place during the swing, preventing the fabric from riding up at an inopportune moment.
