At the heart of the Supernova's construction sits an intricate 3D printed nylon lattice cartridge — a technology Cobra developed in partnership with HP. This precisely engineered internal structure optimizes weight distribution within the putter head in a way that traditional manufacturing simply cannot achieve. The result is the highest possible MOI in a fang-style blade shape, producing more consistent and predictable rolls from every lie and address position. By using 3D printing to control exactly where material is placed, Cobra eliminates unnecessary mass while reinforcing critical structural zones for unmatched stability.
The foundation of the Supernova is a precision-engineered 261 g steel chassis that serves as the structural backbone for the entire multi-material assembly. By positioning this heavier component low in the head, Cobra effectively lowers the center of gravity, promoting a cleaner, more consistent launch off the face. The steel chassis provides the rigidity and dimensional precision needed to hold the 3D printed nylon cartridge, forged aluminum crown, tungsten weights, and SIK face insert in perfect alignment, ensuring every component works together as an integrated system for shot after shot.
A lightweight 18 g forged aluminum crown replaces what would otherwise be a heavier material in this high-visibility area of the putter head. By reducing crown weight, Cobra creates valuable discretionary mass that can be repositioned to the perimeter of the head. This strategic redistribution pushes more weight around the heel, toe, and sole, dramatically increasing the moment of inertia (MOI) across the entire head. A higher MOI means the putter is significantly more resistant to twisting at impact, keeping the face square through contact and delivering a more consistent, on-target roll even on mishits.
Forty-two grams of high-density tungsten weighting is strategically distributed across four key positions — the forward and rear heel and toe extremities of the putter head. Because tungsten is significantly denser than steel or aluminum, a smaller volume of material achieves a much larger perimeter weighting effect. This precise placement pushes the MOI to its absolute maximum in this fang shape, maximizing stability and resistance to twisting on off-center contact. The practical benefit for golfers is clear: even putts struck slightly towards the heel or toe will track on a truer, more consistent line, greatly reducing the penalty for imperfect contact.
Cobra partnered with SIK Golf to design the most accurate putter face possible. Each aluminum face insert incorporates SIK Golf's patented Descending Loft Technology (DLT), which features four distinct loft zones across the face (4°, 3°, 2°, 1°). This ingenious design ensures that regardless of shaft lean, forward press, or attack angle — ascending, neutral, or descending — every putt launches at the optimal 1.5° launch angle for the most consistent roll and trajectory possible. The face is CNC milled from 6061 aluminum, which is slightly softer than steel for a responsive feel, while also being lighter to free up additional weight for perimeter positioning and higher MOI.
