Any shot, any terrain. With the Nikon COOLSHOT 20i GIII golf laser rangefinder, you will always know the exact distance to your target. Improve your game with fast, precise measurements — even when playing on a slope. Find the right target, select the right club, and play with total confidence. Thanks to built-in slope compensation, you can always set the trajectory you need — uphill or downhill.
The "i" in COOLSHOT 20i GIII stands for incline/decline — Nikon's integrated ID Technology automatically factors the angle of the terrain into your distance reading. Activate Golf Mode to receive both the actual distance and the slope-adjusted guide distance simultaneously in the viewfinder, giving you everything you need to choose the right club for uphill and downhill shots. When you want to play by the rules in a competition, simply switch to Actual Distance mode with one press of the MODE button — the slope function deactivates and the unit becomes fully tournament-legal, complying with USGA Local Rule 14-3.
Nikon's LOCKED ON QUAKE function takes the guesswork out of targeting the flagstick. When First Target Priority mode is active, the rangefinder focuses on the nearest object in the line of sight — typically the pin — and filters out background distractions like trees, shrubs, or golf carts. The moment the flagstick distance is precisely captured, the device delivers a gentle but unmistakable vibration to confirm the measurement. In continuous scan mode, a vibration also fires whenever the displayed reading shifts to a closer target, keeping you constantly informed as you sweep across the fairway.
With a measuring range of 5–730 m (6–800 yd), the COOLSHOT 20i GIII is built to handle every scenario you encounter on the golf course. Distance is indicated in 1 m or 1 yd increments for precise club selection. Switching between yards and metres is simple — press and hold the MODE button to toggle between your preferred measurement unit. Whether you are sizing up a short pitch or a long par-5 approach, the COOLSHOT 20i GIII delivers the number you need quickly and reliably.
The continuous measurement mode makes scanning the entire hole fast and effortless. Simply press and hold the power button for up to 8 seconds to sweep across the course and obtain real-time distance readings for water hazards, sand bunkers, doglegs, trees, and any other landmark you need to factor into your strategy. As the readings update live in the viewfinder, you can build a complete picture of the hole before you even address the ball — a genuine competitive advantage on unfamiliar courses.
The COOLSHOT 20i GIII is built around a high-quality 6× monocular featuring multilayer anti-reflective coating on all optical surfaces, delivering a bright, crisp, and brilliantly clear image even in challenging light. The adjustable dioptre correction allows every golfer to achieve perfectly sharp focus tailored to their individual eyesight. A generous 16.7 mm eye relief means the eyepiece can be comfortably used by those wearing prescription glasses or sunglasses — there is no need to remove them when acquiring a target.
Weighing just approximately 130 g and measuring only 91 × 73 × 37 mm, the COOLSHOT 20i GIII is barely larger than a smartphone, making it supremely easy to carry in a pocket, bag, or cart throughout the round. The body is built to withstand the conditions of a real round of golf: rainproof construction equivalent to JIS/IEC protection class 4 (IPX4) means light rain will not interrupt your measuring. A single CR2 lithium battery provides approximately 10,000 measurements — effectively a full season of play before a battery change is required.
Nikon is proud to support The Open and to be inspired by its champions. Our golf rangefinders offer unrivalled optical accuracy, speed, and reliability for those who constantly strive to improve their game.

* Single measurement: When measuring overlapping subjects and the distance to the nearest subject is displayed, the rangefinder body vibrates briefly. Continuous measurement: When the displayed reading shifts to a closer subject, the rangefinder body vibrates briefly.
** Depending on the shape, surface texture, and nature of the target object and/or weather conditions, this laser rangefinder may not vibrate every time a target is acquired.
