The Odyssey Tri-Hot Square 2 Square Jailbird Cruiser Putter represents a breakthrough in zero-torque putter engineering, combining forward center of gravity (CG) placement with a unique topline hosel position to deliver a natural, comfortable setup that requires no shaft lean at address. Built specifically for golfers who prefer a longer, heavier counterbalanced configuration, the Jailbird Cruiser comes standard at 38 inches with a heavier 385g head, a longer and heavier SL140 shaft, and a longer 17" oversize grip — a package engineered to maximize MOI, enhance stroke stability, and promote a consistent, repeatable putting motion. Finished in classic Odyssey black PVD, this right-hand mallet is the ideal choice for any golfer seeking ultimate precision and control on the greens.
At the heart of the Jailbird Cruiser is Odyssey's all-new S2S TRI-HOT multi-material construction, combining aluminum, steel, and over 140 grams of tungsten to push more than 80% of the total head weight below the topline. This radical weight distribution enables the forward center of gravity that defines the Zero-Torque design, placing the hosel spud on the topline — closer to the face than any other putter in its class. The result is a natural, intuitive setup that eliminates the need for shaft lean, removing a common barrier to putting consistency. Golfers can address the ball the same way they would with a traditional putter, while still benefiting from the stability advantages of a zero-torque design.
The Ai-DUAL Insert is Odyssey's most advanced face technology to date, engineered using artificial intelligence and machine learning to perfect its dual-layer urethane construction. The soft outer layer delivers exceptional feel and touch around the greens, while the firm inner core maintains consistent ball speed across the entire face — even on off-center contact. The AI-designed thickness profile of each layer creates a complex contoured backer that promotes enhanced forward roll both up and down the face. Born from Odyssey's quest to combine the forgiveness of Ai-ONE with the roll dynamics of Microhinge, the Ai-DUAL Insert represents the next generation of putter face technology.
The new Forward Roll Design grooves are engineered directly into the Ai-DUAL insert face at a steep 19° slope, making them deeper and more aggressive than any previous Odyssey groove pattern. Working in concert with the dual-layer urethane insert, these grooves reduce initial skid at impact and get the ball into an end-over-end forward roll significantly sooner. This effect is particularly noticeable on slippery, breaking putts, where extra skid and hopping of the ball can cause it to deviate from the intended line. Better, more immediate forward roll translates to tighter distance control and a higher rate of putts staying online through the break.
Unlike the standard Jailbird, the Jailbird Cruiser is purpose-built for golfers who prefer a longer, heavier setup. It comes standard at 38 inches with a heavier 385g head, a longer and heavier Odyssey Black SL140 shaft, and a 17" oversize grip. This counterbalanced configuration raises the balance point of the putter, maximizes MOI, and promotes a smoother, more stable pendulum stroke. The longer grip allows the golfer to choke down to find the exact grip position that feels most stable and comfortable for their individual stroke style, making the Cruiser a versatile option for a wide range of players.
Odyssey surveyed the most popular grips used on professional tours worldwide to identify common traits and opportunities for improvement. The result is the new Pistol Plus grip — a mid-sized pistol grip with crisp, defined edges that fit naturally and comfortably in the hands. The sharper corners give the golfer a heightened awareness of putter face angle throughout the stroke, promoting better face control and more consistent alignment. On the Cruiser, this grip is extended to 17" and works in conjunction with the longer SL140 shaft to allow the golfer to grip down to their ideal comfort length for maximum stability.
The Odyssey Black SL140 shaft was developed in direct collaboration with Tour professionals who demanded a heavier and stiffer option ideally suited to the counterbalanced Cruiser configuration. Finished in a sleek black PVD coating, the shaft is noticeably heavier and stiffer than the standard SL90, which helps stabilize the putting stroke by dampening unwanted wrist action and promoting a more consistent pendulum motion. The heavier shaft pairs perfectly with the 385g head and the 17" oversize grip to create a complete counterbalanced system that enhances stroke consistency from round to round.
