The Odyssey Square 2 Square (S2S) TRI-HOT Rossie is part of Odyssey's newest generation of Zero Torque putters, built around an all-new multi-material construction that advances the category.
By shifting the center of gravity and hosel far enough forward that the shaft meets the head along the top line, Odyssey has eliminated the need for shaft lean, removing one of the biggest barriers for players moving into a face-balanced, Zero Torque putting style. The result is a beautifully balanced mallet built around Odyssey's most advanced face insert to date, tour-informed styling, and construction details engineered for exceptional stability and precision on every stroke. Moving the center of gravity and hosel further forward lets the shaft meet the head along the top line instead of leaning back into the face. This more upright, intuitive setup makes it easier to settle into a natural, comfortable stance at address, because the putter balances itself rather than fighting the player's hands. Keeping the hands and face in the correct relationship through impact becomes simpler, which improves both control and start-line accuracy on every stroke.
By strategically combining aluminum, steel and more than 140 grams of tungsten, Odyssey engineered a true Zero Torque putter with over 80% of its total weight sitting below the topline. This weight distribution supports the forward center-of-gravity position and lets the hosel sit closer to the face than on a conventional mallet. The blend of materials also fine-tunes the sound and feel at impact without compromising the head's structural stability.
The Rossie is fitted with Odyssey's most advanced face insert to date, a two-layer urethane design developed with the help of artificial intelligence. A soft outer layer promotes a soft, tour-preferred feel at contact, while a firmer inner layer keeps ball speed consistent across the entire face, including off-center strikes. Together the two layers also help the ball climb onto a true forward roll more quickly after impact, reducing skid and improving distance control.
A new Forward Roll Design groove pattern is cut deeper and more aggressively than on previous Odyssey inserts. Set at a 19-degree slope, the grooves work together with the dual-layer Ai-DUAL insert to lift the ball into overspin sooner after contact. The result is a smoother, more consistent roll up and down the face, helping keep speed and line predictable on breaking putts.
Odyssey surveyed the most popular grips used on tour and built the new Pistol Plus around the shapes players kept coming back to. It is a mid-sized pistol profile with crisp, defined edges that sits comfortably in the hands and resists twisting during the stroke. A flatter top surface also gives a clearer sense of where the face is aimed throughout the swing, supporting a more repeatable setup and stroke path.
The Rossie is built with Odyssey's Black SL 120 shaft, a stepless steel shaft finished in a black PVD coating for a clean, tour-style look. Compared with the SL 90 shaft used on earlier Odyssey putters, the SL 120 is heavier and stiffer, suiting the added head mass of the multi-material Zero Torque design. The extra weight and stiffness help the putter track on a stable path through the stroke, reinforcing the feel and consistency delivered by the insert and groove design.
