Description

TaylorMade P770 men's irons, steel

Introducing the all-new TaylorMade P·770™ — a player-preferred forged iron engineered for golfers who demand consistent performance, pure feel, and precise feedback in every iron in the bag. Forged to deliver better feel and more consistent performance, the new P·770 irons combine refined shaping for improved turf interaction with FLTD CG™ technology for optimized launch and spin throughout the set. Whether you are chasing a single-digit handicap or competing at club level, the P·770 delivers the ideal balance of player-iron workability and modern forgiveness.

Key Features

  • Forged Construction: Each clubhead is forged and fine-tuned using modal analysis to deliver the best feel in P·770 history, with pure, solid feedback at impact.
  • FLTD CG™ Technology: Progressively positioned center of gravity — lowest in long irons for high launch, shifting higher through the set for lower-launching, high-spinning scoring irons.
  • Precision-Milled Face & Grooves: The forged 4140 steel face and grooves are precision-milled to deliver consistent launch and spin that better players demand for shot-making control.
  • Updated Tungsten Weighting: Refined tungsten weight placement in the long irons lowers CG, increases MOI, and makes the P·770 more forgiving than its predecessor generation.
  • Refined Shaping & Thinner Topline: A thinner topline than P·790 and a compact, confidence-inspiring head shape give the P·770 its signature player-iron look at address.
  • Modified Leading Edge: A newly redesigned leading edge promotes consistent shot-making and crisp, clean turf interaction through the hitting zone.
  • True Temper Dynamic Gold Mid 115 Shaft: Available in R300 (regular, 114 g), S300 (stiff, 115 g), and X100 (extra-stiff, 116 g) flex options for a shaft suited to your swing speed.
  • Right- and Left-Hand Options: Available in both right-hand (RH) and left-hand (LH) configurations across the full set (3i–PW); AW available in right-hand only.

Technology in Detail

Forged Feel

Discerning golfers expect their irons to deliver pure feel and precise feedback, and the P·770 was engineered to meet that standard. Each clubhead’s forged construction is individually fine-tuned using player feedback and modal analysis — a process that identifies and optimizes the vibration characteristics of the head — to create the best-feeling P·770 ever produced. The result is a soft, solid sensation at impact with instant, accurate shot feedback that helps better players understand and refine every strike. This is the feel of a true player’s iron.

FLTD CG™ – Optimized Launch & Spin

Optimizing launch and spin across every club in the set is essential to hitting consistent, controlled iron shots. TaylorMade’s FLTD CG™ (pronounced “flighted CG”) technology strategically positions the center of gravity lowest in the long irons, generating a high, penetrating ball flight with the carry distance needed to hold greens from distance. As the set progresses to the shorter, higher-lofted scoring irons, the CG is progressively raised, producing lower launch angles coupled with higher spin rates for precise distance control and shot-stopping power. Underpinning this system is a precision-milled forged 4140 steel face with precision-milled grooves that consistently deliver the launch and spin modern players demand.

Meticulous Mass Optimization & Tungsten Weighting

Each P·770 iron is individually and meticulously optimized to provide the most beneficial performance characteristics for that specific club. In the long irons (4–7), updated tungsten weighting lowers the center of gravity and increases stability and MOI — delivering more forgiveness and greater ball-speed consistency on off-center strikes compared to the previous generation. The short irons use a one-piece forged cavity back construction that maximizes feel and control in the scoring range. Together, forged construction, exacting mass optimization, and the refined tungsten weight system make the P·770 set a significantly more forgiving playing experience than the model it replaces.

Refined Shaping & Improved Turf Interaction

If you are going to put a club in your bag, it has to inspire confidence the moment you look down at it. The P·770 features a thinner topline than the P·790, reduced offset in the long irons, and a compact head shape that presents a clean, pure players-iron profile at address. A newly modified leading-edge design helps deliver consistent shot-making and crisp turf interaction through the impact zone, so the club moves through the turf smoothly and exits cleanly for a consistent strike. This refined shaping is the result of extensive Tour player feedback, giving the P·770 the visual appeal that belongs in any serious player’s bag.
