Technology in Detail
i-FORGED Construction
The ZXi4 head is forged from a softer SUS17-47 steel, a material change from the previous generation that is immediately noticeable at impact. The softer alloy absorbs more shock on contact, producing a muted, buttery feedback that better players associate with a forged iron. It also machines more easily, which lets Srixon fine-tune loft and lie for a more precise fit. The result is a head that combines forged-like feel with the forgiveness of a hollow, game-improvement design.
MainFrame Technology
A system of precision-milled channels runs across the back of the face, strategically removing weight from the center of the clubhead. That saved weight is redistributed to the perimeter, raising the moment of inertia (MOI) so the head resists twisting on off-center strikes. A thinner, more flexible face also increases ball speed at impact. Together, the two effects mean straighter shots and less distance loss even when contact is not perfectly centered.
Tour V.T. Sole
The sole combines several widths, bounce angles, and camber profiles across the set so that each iron interacts with the turf the way its loft demands. Short irons use a narrower, more aggressive sole for precise contact, while long irons use a wider, higher-bounce sole that resists digging. The rounded camber lets the head glide through turf, rough, and sand alike without snagging or losing clubhead speed, which keeps strikes consistent even on a mis-read lie.
Progressive Grooves
Groove geometry changes through the set to match each club's role. The 4 through 7 irons use wider grooves suited to the fuller, less spin-sensitive swings typical of long-iron shots. From the 8-iron through the sand wedge, the grooves become deeper and more closely spaced to generate consistent, higher spin for control into the green. Laser milling between every groove adds extra micro-texture that improves grip on the ball at the moment of impact, in wet conditions as well as dry.
Player-Inspired Design
The ZXi4 uses a hollow, cavity-back construction but keeps the sole width, offset, and topline restrained compared to typical game-improvement irons. Within the ZXi range it carries the longest length and the highest offset, both of which add forgiveness and help square the face at impact. Despite that extra help, the head still frames the ball attractively at address, so the set does not look out of place in the bag of a better player who simply wants more margin for error.
