Each material is positioned where it contributes most: the chromium carbon crown sheds weight from the top of the head, while the steel face delivers durability and ball speed, and aluminium components fine-tune overall mass distribution. The result is a head that feels exceptionally well-balanced at address and performs consistently from every lie — tight fairways, semi-rough, and off the tee. This multi-material architecture is the foundation on which every other Qi35 technology is built.
Compared to its predecessor, the Qi35 features a noticeably lower head profile that makes it easier to find the centre of the face on both tee shots and off-the-deck strikes. The reduced face height shifts the CG closer to the face, promoting a penetrating mid-launch trajectory with controlled spin. At address, the shallower crown creates a clean, compact look that inspires confidence — a detail TaylorMade's tour players and amateur testers consistently praise. Although the lower face height could theoretically reduce face flexibility, TaylorMade redesigned the face to be thinner, fully preserving ball speed and distance.
Twist Face is TaylorMade's patented corrective face technology, originally developed for drivers and now refined for the Qi35 fairway wood. The face features a unique curvature — open at the high-toe impact zone and closed at the low-heel zone — that counteracts the natural sidespin generated by off-centre strikes. The high-toe area, where golfers most often produce a fade or slice, is slightly closed to promote a straighter ball flight. Conversely, the low-heel zone, prone to producing draws or hooks, is slightly open. The end result is more shots flying closer to your intended target, even on those inevitable mis-hits.
Located in the sole of the club, the Thru-Slot Speed Pocket is a precisely engineered channel that runs along the leading edge of the sole. When the face flexes at impact — particularly on low-face strikes — the slot allows the lower portion of the face to deflect independently from the rest of the head, preserving ball speed that would otherwise be lost. On a fairway wood, low-face contact is one of the most frequent mishits, so this technology delivers a meaningful performance benefit for the majority of golfers. The Qi35 version of the Speed Pocket has been extended further toward the toe compared to previous generations, broadening the sweet zone across the face.
The Infinity Carbon Crown is a lightweight carbon composite panel that extends virtually across the entire top of the Qi35 head — from the front edge all the way to the back. By replacing heavier steel in the crown with carbon composite, TaylorMade frees up significant mass that can be repositioned lower and further back in the head. This lowers the overall centre of gravity, generating a higher launch angle with lower spin for maximum carry distance. The carbon crown also contributes to a visually premium aesthetic, giving the Qi35 a modern, tour-inspired appearance that looks just as impressive in your bag as it does at address.
The 4° adjustable loft sleeve is incorporated in the three core lofts — 3W, 3HL, and 5W — and provides a 12-position adjustment range that can shift loft and lie by ±2° and face angle by ±4°.
