The Qi35 Rescue is built from state-of-the-art chromium carbon, steel, and aluminium — three materials chosen specifically for their unique contributions to performance. Chromium carbon saves significant weight in the crown, freeing up mass to be repositioned lower and further back in the head. This strategic CG placement promotes an optimal launch angle and reduces spin for penetrating, consistent ball flights. Steel provides structural rigidity at the face for maximum energy transfer at impact, while aluminium components contribute to overall head stability. The result is a club engineered for consistent performance, enhanced ball speed, and true forgiveness across the entire face, from any lie or turf condition.
New for the Qi35 generation, a 3° loft sleeve is fitted to every loft in the Rescue range — a first for TaylorMade's rescue line. The sleeve allows golfers to add or subtract 1.5° of loft from the standard setting, giving an effective range of ±1.5° without changing clubs. Additionally, the sleeve adjusts the face angle, enabling a player to promote a slight draw or fade bias to suit their natural shot shape. With four loft options (17°, 19°, 22°, and 25°), and each adjustable by 1.5° in either direction, golfers can dial in yardage gaps with real precision and fine-tune trajectory and curvature simultaneously.
Twist Face™ is TaylorMade's proprietary face geometry technology that addresses the most common off-centre impact patterns. The face is engineered with a subtle twist — open at the low-toe and closed at the high-heel — to counteract the natural tendency of the face to twist open on low-toe hits and closed on high-heel hits. The result is a significant reduction in side spin on mis-hits, keeping shots on a straighter, more predictable line even when contact is not perfectly centred. Variable face thickness further ensures that ball speed is maximised across the full face, not just in a single sweet spot.
The Thru-Slot Speed Pocket™ is a precision-engineered channel cut through the front portion of the sole, directly behind the face. When the face deflects at impact — particularly on shots struck low on the face — the Speed Pocket allows the sole to flex in unison, dramatically increasing the trampoline effect and preserving ball speed that would otherwise be lost. This is especially beneficial for golfers whose contact point tends to drop below the ideal centre, ensuring that thin strikes still generate usable distance and a respectable trajectory rather than falling short of the target.
The chromium carbon fibre crown is the cornerstone of the Qi35 Rescue's multi-material philosophy. By replacing a conventional steel crown with a carbon composite structure, TaylorMade engineers saved meaningful grams in the upper portion of the clubhead. That saved mass is then reallocated lower in the head — deepening the CG and raising the moment of inertia (MOI). A higher MOI means the head resists twisting on off-centre contact, delivering more consistent ball speeds and a more stable face through impact. The chromium aesthetic finish gives the crown a distinctive appearance while maintaining structural integrity throughout the club's lifespan.
The integrated TSS (Trajectory & Swing weight Screw) weighting system is a new addition to the Qi35 Rescue generation. A precision weight screw is set into the centre of the sole, allowing club fitters and assembly technicians to adjust the swing weight of the club during the build process. This means that when a golfer is custom-fitted with a heavier or lighter shaft, the head weight can be tuned to compensate, maintaining the intended feel and tempo profile across every shaft option. The weight also sits low in the head, contributing to a deeper CG and adding a further increment of forgiveness for golfers who struggle to get the ball airborne consistently.
