The U.S. Kids Golf UL45 Ultralight series is purpose-built for young golfers, and the 2022 WT25-s irons represent the pinnacle of that philosophy. Developed and refined with the help of TrackMan launch-monitor technology, every element of the club — from the wider sole to the frequency-tuned K-Flex graphite shaft — is engineered to help junior players get the ball airborne effortlessly and build a consistent, repeatable swing. Available as a 9 Iron (44°) and a Sand Wedge (56°), these clubs are sized for players standing 114–122 cm tall (approximately 6 years old), making them the ideal choice for beginner and intermediate junior golfers taking their first serious steps on the course.
* DV3 — Distance & Velocity, 3rd Generation.
U.S. Kids Golf used TrackMan launch-monitor technology throughout the development of the UL45 Ultralight range to measure and refine every performance variable. Ball speed, launch angle, spin rate, and carry distance were all measured for junior players and fed back into the design process. The result is a club that is genuinely calibrated for a young player's swing — not simply a scaled-down adult iron. The wider sole and lowered centre of gravity that emerged from this process make it considerably easier to launch the ball cleanly from the turf.
The WT25-s designation means the club head is 25% lighter than a comparable adult golf iron, a critical advantage for younger players who cannot yet generate the swing speed needed to load a heavier head. The reduced mass allows the player to accelerate the club more easily through the hitting zone, achieving higher club-head speed and, consequently, greater ball speed and carry distance. This is not a compromise — U.S. Kids Golf engineers the swing weight and shaft frequency to work in concert with the lighter head so that feel and timing are preserved.
Both the 9 Iron and Sand Wedge feature a wider sole that glides through turf contact without digging, making the club far more forgiving of the slightly steeper attack angles common among young players. The lower centre of gravity sits behind and below the face, encouraging the ball to climb quickly and reach a penetrating, controllable trajectory. Off-centre hits are better supported because the broader sole distributes impact energy more evenly across the face. This design philosophy makes the UL45 irons more forgiving and confidence-inspiring for beginners and intermediates alike.
The UL45 Sand Wedge is built around the DV3 (Distance & Velocity, 3rd Generation) platform and incorporates U.S. Kids Golf's 56° Two-Star Grind sole, which provides an ideal blend of versatility and forgiveness from sand and tight lies. Precise COG placement ensures the player can control exactly how far the ball travels from any position around the green, while enhanced milling of the face grooves maximises spin consistency regardless of where on the face contact is made. The wider, more rounded sole reduces the risk of the leading edge digging into the sand, making bunker shots considerably more manageable for junior players. A silver satin surface finish eliminates glare in bright conditions and extends the lifespan of the head.
The K-Flex graphite shaft supplied with every UL45 iron is frequency-tuned specifically for junior swing speeds, ensuring the shaft loads and unloads at the right point in the downswing to deliver maximum energy to the ball. The low kick-point on the 9 Iron further encourages a higher launch angle, helping younger players achieve the carry distance they need without having to swing harder. Graphite construction keeps the overall club weight low, reducing fatigue during a full round of practice or play and protecting developing arm and wrist joints from the vibration associated with heavier steel shafts.
U.S. Kids Golf designs every club in the UL45 range around the actual physical dimensions of the junior player, not as a miniaturised adult club. The UL45 designation targets players standing 114–122 cm tall — typically around 6 years of age — ensuring that grip size, club length, shaft flex, and swing weight all correspond to the child's proportions. Correct sizing is the single most important factor in helping a young golfer develop proper technique and a repeatable swing. The size-45 velvet rubber grip is dimensioned for smaller hands, promoting a relaxed, natural grip pressure and encouraging the correct finger placement from the outset.

The UL45-s 9 Iron is a short DV3* iron designed for beginner and intermediate junior players at around 6 years of age. Suited to players between 114 and 122 cm tall, the 9 Iron features a 25%-lighter-than-adult head, a frequency-tuned K-Flex graphite shaft, a mild offset to promote squarer impact, and a low kick-point that produces an easy, high ball flight. Whether the young player is attacking a short par-3 or laying up on a longer hole, the 9 Iron delivers the forgiveness and consistency needed to build confidence on the course.
The UL45-s Sand Wedge on the K-Flex graphite shaft is built for junior golfers standing 114–122 cm tall, approximately 6 years of age. The forgiving head features a wider, more rounded sole that skims through sand and rough without digging, while the precise COG placement lets young players dial in exactly the carry distance they need from anywhere around the green with maximum spin. Enhanced groove milling ensures optimal spin regardless of where on the face contact is made. The frequency-tuned K-Flex graphite shaft keeps club weight low and reduces vibration. The silver satin surface treatment minimises glare at address and extends the durability of the head. The 56° Two-Star Grind sole geometry provides the ideal combination of all-round versatility and forgiveness from greenside bunkers.
