Technology in Detail

ECCO LYTR Foam & FLUIDFORM™

At the heart of the Ecco LT1 is the new ECCO LYTR advanced rebound foam — one of the lightest and most responsive foam compounds in golf footwear. Rather than being glued or stitched, this foam is poured and bonded directly into the sole using FLUIDFORM™ technology, which has been refined over more than three decades. The result is a midsole that flexes naturally with the foot, provides consistent cushioning across the full round, and maintains structural integrity over time. The seamless connection between the midsole and leather upper eliminates weak bonding points, ensuring long-lasting performance even through repeated rounds in demanding conditions.

PHORENE Midsole Material

The PHORENE midsole compound delivers a noticeable improvement in energy return and cushioning compared to conventional EVA foams. Each stride transfers energy efficiently back into your step, reducing fatigue over the course of an 18-hole round. The material is engineered to remain consistent in feel regardless of temperature changes, so performance on a warm summer morning mirrors that on a cooler autumn afternoon. When combined with the soft PU layer, the midsole provides a graduated comfort profile — firmer at the periphery for stability, softer at the centre for cushioning.

E-DTS™ NET Outsole

The E-DTS™ NET outsole is a contemporary evolution of Ecco's proven E-DTS® (Dynamic Traction System) platform. With more than 800 traction angles distributed across the sole surface, it provides grip in every direction — essential for the rotational forces generated during the golf swing. The outsole is constructed from highly resistant thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU), which keeps weight low while delivering exceptional flexibility and impact absorption. The NET design also improves ground clearance and prevents debris build-up, keeping the sole clean and effective in wet or muddy conditions.

X-TENSA INVISIBLE Technology

Stability during the golf swing is critical for consistent ball-striking, and the X-TENSA INVISIBLE technology addresses this directly. A discreet internal stability frame is embedded within the upper construction, providing lateral support without adding bulk or changing the aesthetic of the shoe. This frame works in concert with the midsole to resist unwanted foot roll at the top of the backswing and through impact, helping golfers maintain a planted, balanced stance. Because it is entirely hidden within the shoe structure, it does not compromise the clean, minimalist profile of the LT1.

ECCO Performance Leather & Waterproof Membrane

The upper of the LT1 is crafted from premium ECCO Performance leather — a breathable, supple material that conforms to the shape of the foot over time for a personalised fit. A waterproof membrane is integrated behind the leather layer, sealing out moisture from rain and wet grass without sacrificing breathability. This combination ensures that feet remain dry and comfortable from the first hole to the last, even in persistently wet conditions. The leather is treated to resist surface water, adding an additional layer of protection and making the shoe easier to clean and maintain after a wet round.

Removable OrthoLite® Insole

The OrthoLite® insole included in the LT1 is one of the most respected comfort insole systems in the footwear industry. It provides long-lasting cushioning that resists compression even after hundreds of hours of wear, maintaining its loft and support throughout the life of the shoe. The open-cell foam structure promotes airflow within the shoe, wicking moisture away from the foot and reducing the risk of blisters and odour. Critically, the insole is fully removable — allowing wearers to substitute a custom orthotic for personalised support, or simply to accommodate a wider foot width by creating additional internal volume.
