A tour-inspired players iron built for added forgiveness without giving up control, look or feel. The PING i240 blends a compact, tour-style profile with a genuinely high level of forgiveness on off-center strikes. Compared with the previous generation, PING lowered the center of gravity, increased head stability and improved feel at impact, resulting in a higher, softer-landing ball flight and more consistent distances that low and mid-handicap players will appreciate.
Ideal for:
- Low to mid-handicap players who want a players-iron look and precision, but still value real forgiveness.
- Golfers who want a higher launch, a softer landing and consistent spin on approach shots.
- A great choice for anyone who wants a tour-inspired iron without going all the way to a pure blade design such as the PING Blueprint S or T.
A lighter badge and a soft elastomer insert improve feel at impact and free up weight that PING redistributes around the perimeter of the head. The result is a meaningful increase in MOI (moment of inertia), so mis-hits keep more ball speed and hold their line, an effect that is most noticeable in the long and mid irons.

A more traditional cavity-back shape brings the classic benefits of perimeter weighting, especially through the long and mid irons, while keeping a clean, players-preferred look at address. A compact blade length and thin topline help the i240 sit behind the ball like a true players iron without sacrificing the stability that low and mid-handicap golfers rely on.
The sole carries a rounded leading edge and enough bounce for clean, solid contact through the turf on every strike. High-density screws and tip weights at the custom tuning port let PING fine-tune swingweight and overall balance for each shaft and grip combination, so the finished iron feels consistent from the 3-iron down through the Utility Wedge.

The PING Color Code Chart is a fitting tool used to determine the optimal iron specifications for a golfer, based on physical measurements (height and wrist-to-floor distance) and swing dynamics. The chart uses a set of colors, each representing a specific combination of iron specifications such as lie angle and shaft length. The right grip size matters just as much and should not be overlooked.
Using the color code chart, golfers and fitters can identify the right code for a given player. For example, a taller golfer with a flatter swing may need a different color code than a shorter golfer with a more upright swing.
