The fastest, lowest-spinning Tour ball in the TaylorMade lineup. The TaylorMade TP5x golf balls represent the latest generation of the fastest five-layer Tour ball. Compared to the TP5, the TP5x is firmer, faster, and intentionally lower-spinning in the long game, while still retaining a soft feel and high spin around the green. Thanks to the new microcoating technology and redesigned mantle layers, the TP5x delivers maximum ball speed, consistent flight, and an exceptionally tight dispersion — exactly what performance-focused players expect from a top Tour ball.
The visual side is handled by ClearPath Alignment™ Pix — a bold, full-coverage, high-contrast graphic that:
Ideal for:
Traditional paint finishing has a fundamental flaw: excess paint tends to pool in the bottom of the dimples, disrupting the aerodynamics and causing small but measurable deviations in ball flight. TaylorMade's R&D team identified this invisible problem using micro-measurement equipment capable of discerning widths thinner than a human hair.
The solution is the revolutionary microcoating process — an ultrathin layer of paint, thinner than a human hair, applied with extreme uniformity across the entire surface of the ball. Cure times, temperatures, and the precise amount of paint used are all tightly controlled down to one-millionth of a gram.
The tangible result for golfers is predictable full-shot dispersion: more consistent aerodynamics, a more stable peak height and carry distance, and a tighter range of left-to-right misses — especially in the wind. This makes the TP5x one of the most consistent Tour balls TaylorMade has ever produced.
The TP5x uses a five-layer architecture: a Speed Wrapped Core, three mantle layers, and a cast urethane cover. The 2026 generation features a firmer, faster core and redesigned mantle layers made from advanced new materials that form what TaylorMade calls a speed gradient — each layer is tuned differently to influence ball speed and spin at impact.
The finely adjusted thickness ratios between the core and mantles are engineered to maximize ball speed while maintaining spin control. The result: the TP5x achieves the highest speed and lowest driver spin of any TaylorMade Tour ball, while still delivering excellent wedge spin and short-game feel around the green.

Just like the previous generation, the 2026 TP5x uses a Tour Flight urethane cover and the Seamless Tour Flight dimple pattern — but the dimple geometry has been subtly refined for this generation to work in closer harmony with the new microcoating finish.
The optimized lift-to-drag ratio, minimized aerodynamic turbulence, and higher peak height combine to produce a stable, penetrating trajectory that holds its line without ballooning — even in challenging wind conditions. The ultrathin cast urethane cover also ensures tour-caliber spin and feel on pitches, chips, and putts around the green.

The pix design wraps the entire ball in twelve strategically placed multi-color graphics that frame the TaylorMade logo and TP5x stamp — creating the distinctive pix pattern. This full-coverage, high-contrast graphic provides ClearPath Alignment™ for instant roll visibility during putting, making spin and rotation easy to read with every stroke.
The pix design is the most-played all-over-print visual technology on professional tours. It helps you quickly and accurately align the ball at address, gives instant feedback on the quality of your putting stroke, and makes the ball significantly easier to track in the air and locate in the rough.

| How Microcoating Works No two golf balls are the same — but the all-new TP5x sets out to solve an invisible problem through a revolutionary microcoating finish process. Microcoating ensures an ultrathin, even layer of paint across the entire surface of the ball, so every dimple is perfectly covered for consistent, predictable performance. | |
| Thinner Than a Human Hair The microcoating layer is thinner than a human hair and delivers measurable performance advantages: more consistent ball flight from shot to shot, optimized carry distance, and a tight left-to-right dispersion — so your misses stay manageable, even in the wind. | |
