For players who prefer a compact, iron-like shape to thread the needle off the tee or get home from long range, the Titleist U•505 4G is The Advanced Driving Iron — fast, consistent, and effortlessly pure. Engineered as part of the all-new 2025 T-Series iron lineup, the U•505 plays like an iron but performs like something more, delivering hybrid-level launch and forgiveness within a clean, tour-inspired profile.
From threading tight fairways off the tee to attacking pins from unfathomable distances, the U•505 gives players the speed and control to hit clutch shots with complete confidence. Available with PREMIUM Graphite Design Tour AD shafts for an exceptional combination of stability, feel, and launch performance.
The U•505 achieves its iconic iron-like appearance through a hollow, high-strength steel body construction that conceals advanced performance technology under the hood. The one-piece hollow body — a key update from the previous generation — provides a clean, seamless look at address that blends beautifully with any T-Series iron set. Despite its compact profile, the architecture creates significant internal volume to house the performance technologies needed for maximum distance and forgiveness. The result is a club that looks like a long iron but plays far beyond the limitations of a conventional iron design.
At the heart of the U•505's distance performance is a new forged L-Face with a V-Taper variable face thickness design. The L-shape of the face wraps around the sole of the club, dramatically expanding the high-speed zone and delivering greater ball speed across the entire face. The V-Taper design specifically increases launch on low-face strikes — historically the most penalised miss — ensuring that even imperfect contact results in the effortless launch and carry needed to pull off shots from distance. The forged construction also contributes to a solid, satisfying feel at impact.
Max Impact Technology uses a urethane polymer positioned beneath the centre of the face to tune the entire face structure and deliver consistently fast ball speeds regardless of where contact is made. The improved version in the 2025 U•505 generates more uniform launch angles, ball speeds, spin rates, and carry distances across the face — even on the heel and toe, where dispersion is typically widest. This expanded consistency is what gives players the confidence to attack narrow fairways off the tee and go for more greens from distances previously reserved for fairway woods and hybrids.
Strategic placement of split high-density tungsten weights in both the heel and toe produces an optimal centre of gravity with exceptional stability in a compact profile. The lower, deeper CG position raises launch angles for high, towering ball flights while simultaneously increasing MOI (moment of inertia) to dramatically reduce the impact of off-centre strikes. This design ensures consistent carry distances and improved trajectory control shot after shot — the hallmark of exceptionally forgiving shotmaking that players at all levels can rely on when it matters most.
The U•505 4G is engineered with a player-preferred profile featuring minimal offset, allowing it to blend seamlessly into the top end of a mixed iron setup. The progressive shaping — where sole width gradually narrows and face height progressively increases from the stronger to weaker lofts — means each club in the set is individually optimised for playability at its specific loft, from the long-range 1-iron (16°) through to the versatile 4-iron (22°). The result is a cohesive, aesthetically consistent setup that transitions naturally from your utility into your standard irons.
This PREMIUM build pairs the U•505 4G head with two of Graphite Design's finest hybrid shaft options: the Tour AD DI-85 Hybrid and the Tour AD VF 85. Both shafts are engineered specifically for utility iron applications, delivering the ideal blend of torsional stability, low launch control, and smooth feel through impact. The DI-85 Hybrid (Dual Innovated profile) focuses on stability and penetrating trajectory, while the VF 85 (Variable Frequency) prioritises a controlled, consistent load profile. Both are available in Stiff and X-Stiff flexes to suit a wide range of swing speeds and player preferences.
