The DV3 Fairway Driver from U.S. Kids Golf is a purpose-built junior club for beginner to intermediate young golfers between 107 and 113 cm tall — typically around 5 years of age. Engineered with the WT25-S system (club heads 25% lighter than adult clubs), this fairway driver is sized and weighted perfectly for small players who are just beginning their golf journey. It can be played from the tee or directly off the fairway, functioning much like a 3-wood in an adult set.
The DV3 Fairway Driver features a pear-shaped head profile and generous loft that make it easy to get the ball airborne even from difficult lies. A very low and deep centre of gravity combined with the compact head promotes high, long shots from both the tee and the fairway. The narrower crown encourages a high launch angle with reduced spin, and the club's exceptional forgiveness simplifies the game — letting young golfers focus on having fun and building confidence rather than struggling with equipment.
The WT25-S designation means the club head is 25% lighter than a comparable adult fairway wood. This dramatic weight reduction allows young players with developing swing speeds to generate real clubhead speed without overexerting. The result is genuine distance and a satisfying contact sensation that builds enthusiasm for the game. Combined with a correctly sized grip and junior-length shaft, the whole club is proportioned to the child's body — not simply a shortened adult club.
U.S. Kids Golf used Trackman launch-monitor technology to pinpoint the ideal CG location for the UL42 head size and target player profile. Placing the CG very low and deep in the head maximises launch angle while minimising spin for optimal carry at junior swing speeds. This data-driven engineering approach means the club behaves predictably on every shot, giving young golfers the confidence to swing freely and focus on developing technique rather than compensating for equipment limitations.
The pear-shaped head profile is carefully proportioned for the UL42 size class. It is compact enough to promote a fluid swing, yet substantial enough to offer genuine forgiveness on off-centre strikes. The narrower crown profile lowers the visual CG cue at address and encourages the player to sweep through the ball rather than hit down on it, naturally producing the high, arching ball flight that delivers maximum distance for a young golfer. The shape also looks reassuringly familiar, modelled closely on the fairway woods used by touring professionals.
The K-Flex graphite shaft is designed specifically for junior swing speeds. Its extra-light construction keeps the total club weight in the ideal range for a child aged around 5, while the low kick-point ensures maximum energy transfer into ball speed at impact. A low kick-point causes the shaft to load and release earlier in the downswing, which is exactly what slower swing speeds need to achieve a high launch angle. The shaft flexes are strictly matched to the height-based UL fitting system so every junior gets the correct flex for their physical size.
