The device is compliant with the Rules of Golf and is therefore permitted for tournament play when the Slope function is switched off. A raw distance reading is not considered advice; however, because this rangefinder factors in elevation change and then calculates the new compensated playing distance, that compensated figure does constitute advice under the Rules. The built-in PinSeeker technology ensures the flagstick is acquired even when the flag is positioned in front of another object such as a tree or uneven terrain behind the green.
