Description

PING Blueprint T men's irons, steel

Compact muscle-back irons for the elite ball striker. The PING Blueprint T are premium forged muscle-back irons engineered for highly skilled players who rely on maximum trajectory control, precision, and shot-shaping ability. Built as a single-piece, 8620 carbon steel forging, mass is concentrated directly through the impact zone, delivering an exceptionally clean feel, solid sound, and outstanding feedback at impact. Developed following extensive testing with PING's top tour professionals, the Blueprint T is a refined evolution of the original Blueprint iron — already found in the bags of many tour staffers who prefer the look and feel of a compact, muscle-back style iron.

Ideal for:

  • Highly advanced players and low handicappers (approx. 0–9) who rely on workability and precision.
  • Golfers who prefer the compact muscle-back look and want maximum control over shot shape and trajectory.
  • Players building a pure player's set or a combo set with Blueprint S / i230 — matched lofts make blending seamless.

Key Features

  • Single-piece 8620 Carbon Steel Forging: More than 50 manufacturing steps produce a pure, tour-calibre muscle-back head with exceptional feel and consistency.
  • Machined Face & Grooves: Precision-milled face and grooves deliver preferred launch, spin, and pinpoint control, enhanced by the Hydropearl 2.0 chrome finish.
  • Tour Collaboration: Developed with PING's top tour professionals as a direct evolution of the original Blueprint iron, validated at the highest level of the game.
  • Tungsten Toe Screw & Shaft Tip Weight: These precision weights provide exact swingweight control and a slight boost in MOI while keeping the iron virtually pure forged.
  • Narrow Sole: Enables consistent, clean turf interaction and reliable performance from a wide variety of lies and conditions.
  • Clean, Compact Shape: A shorter heel-face height allows the hosel transition to flow seamlessly into the top rail, creating a distraction-free look with minimal offset, a short blade length and a thin topline.
  • Winning Tour Pedigree: The Blueprint T and S won early and often as a blended set on tours worldwide, with Louis Oosthuizen claiming back-to-back DP World Tour victories.
  • Combo-Set Compatible: Lofts are matched with Blueprint S and i230 irons so players can easily build a custom blended set across PING's precision iron range.

PING Colour Code Chart

The PING Colour Code Chart is a precision fitting tool used to determine the optimal iron specifications for each individual golfer, based on their physical measurements (height and wrist-to-floor distance) and swing dynamics. Each colour code corresponds to a specific combination of iron specifications — primarily lie angle and shaft length — ensuring the clubs are built to match your body and swing, not just an industry standard.

Lie Angle: The angle between the shaft and the ground at address. An incorrect lie angle causes the face to point left or right of the target at impact, directly affecting accuracy. The PING fitting system fine-tunes this angle so the centre of the sole sits flush with the turf, promoting straight, consistent ball flight.

Shaft Length: Shaft length influences posture, swing plane, and ultimately distance and accuracy. Longer shafts can add distance but may reduce control; shorter shafts generally improve control and consistency. A correctly fitted length allows a natural, repeatable setup that suits your build and swing style.

Grip Size: Grip size affects comfort, control, and feel. Golfers with larger hands often benefit from thicker grips for better control, while players with smaller hands typically prefer thinner grips for enhanced feedback and feel. An incorrect grip size can influence hand action and shot direction.

Using the Colour Code Chart, a fitter can quickly identify the correct specification for any golfer. For example, a taller player with a flatter swing plane will require a different colour code than a shorter player with a more upright swing — even if both are at the same handicap level.
