In consultation with PING Tour professionals, the Glide Forged Pro wedge has been custom-engineered for discerning shot-makers who put a premium on precise, consistent ball-striking into and around the green. A more compact, forged 8620 carbon steel head and precision-machined grooves deliver predictable, tour-level results across a comprehensive range of lofts — from 50° to 62°. Two specialized sole grinds (S and T) allow every golfer to match the wedge to their angle of attack and most common turf conditions, while the Hydropearl 2.0 chrome finish ensures performance is never compromised by wet or rough weather.

Tour-Inspired Shotmaker's Profile: A shorter heel-to-toe head and refined hosel transition create the compact, captured look favoured by elite players for total shot-making confidence.
Forged 8620 Carbon Steel Construction: Each head is precision-forged from 8620 carbon steel, delivering an exceptionally soft, pleasing feel and consistency shot after shot.
Friction Face Technology: Fully machined, steeper wheel-cut grooves combined with a new Emery face blast add texture to the hitting surface, creating maximum friction and interaction between club and ball for higher spin and lower launch.

Shotmaker's Compact Profile

The Glide Forged Pro is built with a tour-preferred shape that is shorter from heel to toe and refined through the hosel transition, accentuating a smaller, more compact profile. This produces what PING describes as a "captured look" at address — the head appears controlled and deliberate behind the ball, encouraging confident club manipulation and creative shot-making. Compared to earlier Glide Forged models, the reduced overall size feels much more like a true blade wedge in the hands of skilled players. The result is a wedge that inspires attack: players can open the face, hood it, or play a standard shot with equal ease and confidence.

Forged 8620 Carbon Steel

Every Glide Forged Pro head is precision-forged from 8620 carbon steel — the same material trusted by tour professionals worldwide for its ideal balance of softness and durability. Forging compresses the grain structure of the steel, producing an exceptionally consistent and responsive striking surface that transmits feedback clearly to the hands. The soft carbon steel construction also contributes to the muted, pleasing sound at impact that skilled golfers associate with high-quality wedge play. The combination of forging process and material choice means every Glide Forged Pro performs to exacting machined tolerances.

Friction Face — Wheel-Cut Grooves & Emery Face Blast

To maximise spin and control, PING engineers developed a dual-texture hitting surface for the Glide Forged Pro. Steeper, fully machined wheel-cut grooves create precise, consistent launch conditions by channelling moisture and debris away from the ball at impact. A new Emery face blast adds micro-texture to the areas between the grooves, dramatically increasing friction between the clubface and ball. Together, these two elements deliver more interaction at impact, resulting in higher spin rates and a lower, more penetrating ball flight — both critical for stopping the ball quickly on firm greens.

Hydropearl 2.0 Chrome Finish

The Hydropearl 2.0 finish is PING's signature water-repellent chrome treatment, applied to the entire wedge head. The microscopic surface structure causes water to bead and roll off the face, dramatically reducing the effect of moisture on spin and shot distance in wet conditions. Whether playing from morning dew, rain-soaked rough, or a wet bunker, the Hydropearl 2.0 finish helps maintain consistent interaction between clubface and ball — delivering the same reliable spin and trajectory you would expect in dry conditions. S-Grind — Versatile for Most Players

The S-Grind features moderate 10° bounce (59° S uses 8°) with a rounded leading edge, engineered to suit the broadest range of players and swing types. The rounded sole entry prevents the leading edge from digging at impact, making it forgiving from a variety of lies including tight fairway, semi-rough, and standard sand bunkers. Available in lofts from 50° through 60°, the S-Grind is the ideal starting point for golfers building a short-game setup or those who play on mixed turf conditions. It transitions seamlessly from full pitch shots to bump-and-run chips.

T-Grind — Creative Shot-Makers

The T-Grind features a narrower sole with 6° of bounce — approximately 3° less than the S-Grind — designed to offer maximum versatility for players who like to work the face of the club. Its narrow profile allows the leading edge to sit closer to the turf, making it ideal for players with a shallower angle of attack, those who frequently play on firm or hard-baked turf, and golfers who regularly open the face for flop shots and bunker escapes. Available in 58°, 60°, and 62° lofts, the T-Grind gives the most adventurous short-game players the tool they need for creative, low-trajectory shots.
