Most drivers rely on a single flex point — the face — which compresses and springs back at impact to propel the ball forward. Srixon's Rebound Frame adds a second flex zone: a thin titanium ring set back from the face. At impact, the face (Zone 1) deforms inward while this surrounding ring (Zone 2) deforms outward. When both zones snap back simultaneously, the compounded rebound effect delivers an energy transfer that is measurably more powerful than a conventional single-flex design — effectively making the entire head act as one large spring. The Mk II iteration expands the high-COR area by 10% over the original ZX7, directly translating to faster ball speeds on a broader area of the face.
The face of the ZX7 Mk II is machined from Ti51AF titanium alloy — a high-strength, high-flexibility material — and features a complex thickness gradient. By making the centre 0.25 mm thinner than its predecessor and reinforcing the perimeter by 0.4 mm, Srixon engineers created a face that flexes more uniformly from heel to toe. The practical outcome: even strikes away from the geometric centre produce ball speeds competitive with centre-face hits, protecting distance when your contact is less than perfect.
Beneath the clean matte-black crown lies the Star Frame: a structural lattice of internal ridges that provide the rigidity required to keep the crown extraordinarily thin. By removing material from the crown without sacrificing structural integrity, Srixon freed up discretionary mass to place precisely where it benefits trajectory and spin most — producing a driver that launches efficiently and holds its line through impact.
The Gen 4 Black introduces Dual Torsional Design — a proprietary shaft-engineering process that allows Project X's engineers to dial in stability and torque with far greater precision along each section of the shaft. The result is a classically aggressive HZRDUS Black profile: stiff butt, extra-stiff midsection, stiff tip — optimised for the powerful, aggressive swinger who needs maximum stability and minimum unwanted spin through the hitting zone. At 60 g with 3.5° of torque in 6.0 Stiff, it pairs seamlessly with the ZX7 Mk II's low-spin head design.
