The PING G440 LST (Low Spin Technology) is engineered for golfers with faster swing speeds who demand lower spin, greater control, and a penetrating ball flight. A hotter face, lighter overall system weight and a longer shaft (46") deliver more speed and distance while maintaining tight dispersion. The Free Hosel and Carbonfly Wrap crown save weight to create PING's lowest CG ever, increasing forgiveness while contributing to a more muted, pleasing sound at impact. Available in right- and left-hand configurations with lofts of 9.0° and 10.5°, this Tour-inspired 450cc driver comes with a headcover and wrench.
PING's innovative Free Hosel technology removes weight from a section of the hosel region — approximately 4–5 grams — and strategically redistributes that mass lower in the head. This creates PING's deepest centre of gravity (CG) in a driver to date, aligning it closer to the force line for increased ball speed and optimised launch and spin conditions. The result is consistently longer, straighter drives with enhanced fairway-finding forgiveness. The lighter head section also allows a heavier back weight to be used, further maximising MOI and directional stability on off-centre strikes.
A shallower face height gives PING's engineers the freedom to make the face thinner and more flexible, generating faster ball speeds across the entire face — including the critical high heel region where many golfers make contact. This shallow face design produces a more flexible, hotter impact zone without compromising face integrity, delivering consistent distance on both centre and off-centre hits. The result is a more forgiving and faster face at the same time, raising ball speed potential for golfers with every swing speed profile that suits the LST's low-spin design.
The Carbonfly Wrap carbon crown — now standard across the entire G440 driver family — saves significant weight compared to a conventional titanium crown. That saved mass is redistributed throughout the head to push the CG even lower and deeper, increasing forgiveness and MOI. Beyond the performance benefits, the carbon crown also works in conjunction with internal shaping and ribs to produce a more muted, pleasing sound at impact — the kind of solid, confidence-inspiring feedback that Tour players and serious amateurs expect. Previously used only on the G430 LST, the Carbonfly Wrap now extends to all G440 models as a testament to its effectiveness.
The G440 LST features a 29-gram back weight that delivers exceptional MOI for maximum forgiveness on every swing. Unlike fixed weights, this back weight can be positioned in three settings — Draw, Fade or Neutral — allowing you to influence the horizontal CG location and fine-tune your preferred shot shape and trajectory. Whether you're looking to counteract a persistent fade, add a reliable draw, or simply launch the ball on the straightest possible line, the adjustable weight system makes it easy to dial in the optimal configuration without visiting a clubfitter. Each gram moved to the back weight translates directly to improved MOI and greater directional forgiveness.
The lightweight Trajectory Tuning 2.0 hosel provides eight distinct adjustment positions, giving golfers and fitters the ability to fine-tune loft by ±1.5° and set the lie angle up to 3° flatter than the standard position. This versatility makes it easy to optimise ball flight, launch angle and spin rate to match your individual swing characteristics and course conditions — all without the need for a new shaft or club. The adjustable hosel is light enough that it does not compromise swingweight, ensuring the performance benefits of weight redistribution are maintained throughout the fitting process. The lie angle shown on the club is an average of the five adjustable loft positions indicated on the hosel.
The G440 LST is offered with two distinct PING-developed graphite shaft families to suit different swing profiles. The counter-balanced Alta CB Blue 50 is the lighter option, designed to help increase clubhead speed at a mid-high to high launch, making it an excellent choice for golfers who want to add carry distance with a softer feel. The Tour 2.0 Black 65 delivers a low launch and low spin profile, ideal for high-speed swingers who want to keep the ball flight penetrating and under control. The Tour 2.0 Chrome 65 sits between the two extremes, producing a low-to-mid ball flight with the control and accuracy preferred by better players and Tour professionals. All shaft weights and lengths are matched to the head for optimised swingweight.
Higher swing speed (Handicap approx. 10–12) and looking for lower spin and control: we recommend the PING Tour 2.0 Chrome or Black 65 in Stiff or X-Stiff flex.
Mid swing speed (Handicap approx. 10–20) and looking for a balance of distance and stability: we recommend the PING Tour 2.0 Chrome 65 (Regular or Stiff) or the PING Alta CB Blue 50 (Regular or Stiff).
Lower swing speed (Handicap 18+) and looking to help get the ball airborne: we recommend the PING Alta CB Blue 50 (Regular or Stiff) for its lighter weight and higher launch profile.
