The PING G440 HL Men's Hybrid is engineered specifically for golfers with slower swing speeds who want to swing faster, launch the ball higher, and carry it farther to reach more greens in regulation. A new, shallower and thinner face design delivers faster ball speed, a higher peak height, and big distance with added stopping power. Each hybrid in the G440 family is loft-specifically engineered to deliver a different ball flight — from the fade-biased 3H through the neutral mid-hybrids to the draw-inducing 5H, 6H, and 7H models. Lofts are adjustable ±1.5° and lie up to 3° flatter than standard via the Trajectory Tuning 2.0 hosel, giving you precise control over your ball flight. Every club includes a headcover.
The new Free Hosel design removes 4 grams of weight from the hosel, screw, and heel section of the clubhead. This mass is then repositioned as low and as far back as possible within the head, resulting in a 12% reduction in the center of gravity compared to the previous generation. A lower CG works in concert with the reduced face height to enhance launch angle and stopping power into greens, all without compromising ball speed. The result is a hybrid that is more forgiving, higher-launching, and more distance-capable across the full range of lofts.
Building on the success of the G430 generation, the G440 CarbonFly Wrap crown takes weight savings even further. The lightweight carbon construction saves significant mass in the crown, which engineers then redistribute low and toward the back of the head to lower the CG and maximize the moment of inertia (MOI). The higher MOI ensures that even off-center strikes retain ball speed and accuracy, keeping shots on-line. As an added benefit, the carbon crown contributes to a more muted, pleasing sound at impact — a subtle but important part of the feel at address and through the ball.
The G440 HL hybrid features a redesigned face that is both shallower (8%) and thinner (6%) than the previous generation. The shallower face height moves the sweet spot higher, making it easier to make contact in the optimal zone for a higher launch angle. The thinner face construction combined with an optimized face profile increases ball speed across the center of the face and helps control ball speed on off-center strikes — so even mishits carry further and land more predictably. Together, these face enhancements deliver higher-launching shots that hit, hold, and stop close to the pin.
The slimmed-down back-weight profile of the G440 hybrid ensures the club sits more flush to the ground at address, giving you a cleaner, more confidence-inspiring look. Crucially, this design also guarantees that the face angle remains fully consistent no matter which loft or lie position you select in the adjustable Trajectory Tuning 2.0 hosel. Whether you dial in more or less loft, or adjust the lie angle, you can trust that the face will be square at impact — eliminating any unwanted bias introduced by the adjustment.
Every hybrid in the G440 range is individually engineered for a specific ball-flight characteristic, so the right loft always delivers the right shot shape for your game. The 3H and 4H feature lofts tuned for a higher launch with a neutral ball flight and greater stopping power on approach shots. The 5H, 6H, and 7H provide a gentle draw bias and the highest launch angles within the range, helping the ball fly straighter, carry reliably, and gap cleanly into the long-iron section of your set. This loft-specific engineering ensures that every hybrid performs its intended role rather than simply filling a distance gap.
The HL build is purpose-built for players with slower swing speeds who want to maximize clubhead speed, launch height, and carry distance. Featuring a lighter aluminum back weight, the PING Alta Quick graphite shaft (available in 35-flex and 45-flex), and a Lamkin UTx Lite grip, the entire HL assembly is approximately 15% lighter than a standard build. This weight reduction promotes a faster swing speed and an easier, higher ball flight, helping you reach more greens and stop the ball close to the hole. The HL build is available in 3H through 7H in both right- and left-hand configurations.

These are design specifications that may vary due to manufacturing tolerances. Lie angle is an average of the five adjustable loft positions indicated on the hosel. Achievable swingweights depend on shaft, length, and grip combinations. Standard swingweight for the High Launch (HL) build is C7. The HL build is available in 3H–7H. Available in right-hand (MRH) and left-hand (MLH) models.
