The PING G440 HL (High Launch) Hybrid is purpose-built for men with slower swing speeds who want to swing faster, launch the ball higher, and carry it farther to reach more greens with reliable stopping power. Custom-engineered with a lighter head, an aluminium back weight, the ultralight PING ALTA Quick shaft, and a Lamkin UTx Lite grip, the HL build reduces overall weight to unlock more clubhead speed with less effort. A redesigned shallower and thinner face delivers faster ball speed, a higher peak trajectory, and big distance — making long-iron replacements easier and more consistent than ever.

Redesigned Face: Shallower & Thinner

The G440 HL face is 8% shallower than its predecessor, encouraging contact higher on the face for a higher launch angle. At the same time, a 6% thinner face wall flexes more efficiently to raise ball speed across the centre of the face and manage speed on mishits — so every shot carries farther and lands softer. The combination of shallower profile and thinner construction works together to deliver a higher peak height and more consistent distance from tee to green. This redesigned face is one of the most significant performance upgrades in the G440 HL, giving slower-swing-speed players the ball flight and carry distance they need to attack more pins.

Free-Hosel Technology

By engineering out 4g of mass from the hosel, attachment screw, and heel section, PING's Free-Hosel Technology repositions weight lower in the head. The result is a centre of gravity that sits 12% lower — boosting launch angle, maximising forgiveness, and improving stopping power, all without giving up ball speed. This lower CG position is critical for the HL build, as it amplifies the high-launch characteristics that slower-swing-speed players depend on. The freed-up mass is strategically placed to raise MOI and improve overall stability throughout the swing.

CarbonFly Wrap Crown

The multi-material CarbonFly Wrap crown is significantly lighter than a traditional steel crown. The mass savings are redirected low and toward the perimeter of the head, raising the MOI for a more forgiving club that also produces a satisfyingly muted sound at impact. By wrapping the carbon material across the crown in a continuous construction, PING maximises both the structural integrity and the weight savings — achieving a club that is both lighter and more stable than previous generations.
