The Spider ZT Black is built on a 100% milled multi-material platform that combines a high-density 303 stainless steel front section with a low-density 6061 aerospace aluminium rear section. This pairing creates the ideal foundation for achieving a high Moment of Inertia (MOI), ensuring the putter head resists twisting on off-centre strikes. Three strategically placed TSS weights allow TaylorMade engineers to triangulate CG properties precisely to maintain the toe-up balance position throughout the stroke. The KBS CT Putter 120 Stepless Black shaft is bored directly in line with the putter's centre of gravity, incorporating a slight forward shaft lean and a 25 mm onset positioned behind the leading edge. This engineering creates a toe-up orientation that enhances stability throughout the entire stroke and helps hold the face angle steady at all points of the putting motion. The SuperStroke Pistol 1.0 grip is also positioned 1° off-axis to reinforce forward shaft lean at address and impact, actively working to minimise any loft addition at the moment of contact. Like the Spider putters before it, the Spider ZT Black employs TaylorMade's proven Pure Roll™ insert technology. The insert is manufactured from a premium combination of Surlyn and aluminium — materials selected for their complementary acoustic and performance properties. Grooves machined at a precise 45° angle work immediately at impact to promote forward, end-over-end roll, getting the ball rolling on its true path sooner after impact and reducing unwanted skid.
