Experience all the benefits you have come to expect from Spider putters in a completely reimagined package engineered to deliver unmatched stability and consistent performance on the greens. The TaylorMade Spider ZT introduces Zero Torque (ZT) technology — a precision-engineered shaft-to-head relationship that dramatically reduces face rotation throughout the stroke, keeping the face square to the target line from takeaway to follow-through. Built for golfers of every ability level, the Spider ZT combines 100% milled multi-material construction, extreme perimeter weighting, and the proven Pure Roll™ insert into a high-MOI mallet putter that rewards a straight-back, straight-through stroke with repeatable, confident putting.
The defining innovation of the Spider ZT is its CG-centered shaft orientation. TaylorMade engineers positioned the center of gravity 25 mm behind the face, then bored the KBS shaft directly in line with that CG point, incorporating 1° of onset. This alignment means the shaft enters the head at the exact balance point of the head mass, so no twisting force is generated as the putter swings. The result: the face stays square to the arc of the path throughout the stroke, dramatically reducing the left and right misses caused by face rotation. Traditional putters are inherently prone to rotating; the ZT design eliminates that tendency without requiring any change to your existing mechanics or stroke technique.
Spider ZT putters are built using 100% milled multi-material construction. The front section is formed from high-density 303 stainless steel, while the back — comprising roughly 75% of the head’s front-to-back geometry — is machined from lightweight 6061 aerospace-grade aluminium. This dramatic density contrast pushes mass to the perimeter, producing extreme perimeter weighting and a high moment of inertia (MOI) that resists twisting on off-center strikes. Three strategically placed TSS (Tungsten Speed System) weights further triangulate the CG to maintain the toe-up balance orientation. The combination delivers outstanding distance control and direction even on mis-hit putts.
The Pure Roll™ insert is a precision-engineered face insert made from a composite of Surlyn and aluminium. Its 45°-angled grooves are machined to promote an immediate and consistent forward roll from the moment of ball contact, reducing skid and hops that lead to distance inconsistency. The insert also fine-tunes the sound and feel at impact, producing a soft yet responsive sensation that gives clear feedback on the quality of each strike. Whether you are putting on a slow, thick bent-grass green or a lightning-fast links surface, the Pure Roll™ insert adapts roll characteristics to keep your pace control reliable across every green speed.
True Path™ Alignment has been a Spider staple since the original model, but it has been completely reimagined for Spider ZT. Rather than a bold painted stripe, the ZT features thinly milled lines on top of the 303 stainless steel face that are spaced the exact width of a golf ball apart. This subtle, precision-milled alignment system allows you to centre the putter head behind the ball intuitively at every address, without adding visual clutter or disrupting the clean look of the head. Better alignment at address translates directly into a more confident stroke and more putts holed.
TaylorMade engineers redesigned the sole of Spider ZT specifically to complement the unique toe-ward hosel configuration. The new camber (curvature) of the sole works in concert with the onset hosel to encourage proper soling alignment at address: the putter sits flush against the turf with the face naturally aimed at the target, regardless of a player’s individual set-up tendencies or preferred ball position. This means less compensating at address, a more natural stance, and a repeatable stroke foundation for a wide variety of player types — from beginners finding their putting posture to tour professionals dialling in a precise routine.
The stock SuperStroke Pistol 1.0 grip is mounted at a 1° off-axis angle, engineered to work in concert with the ZT shaft orientation. This deliberate grip positioning encourages the hands to adopt a forward-leaning shaft angle at address, which pre-sets the putter for impact at the optimal loft and prevents golfers from inadvertently adding loft through the hitting zone. Less dynamic loft at impact means the ball gets onto the putting surface immediately in a forward-rolling motion rather than bouncing or skidding, delivering better distance control and a more predictable ball reaction across all green conditions.
