Premium tour performance. Zero Torque technology. Maximum stability. The TaylorMade Spider ZT Long putter is engineered for golfers who demand an exceptionally stable head, a longer shaft configuration, and unwavering confidence on every putt. At 46", it is the longest and heaviest model in the Spider ZT lineup, delivering the highest MOI and the greatest degree of stability of any putter in the range. Powered by the innovative Zero Torque (ZT) design — which places the shaft axis directly through the centre of gravity — the Spider ZT Long promotes a smoother tempo, a squarer face through impact, and repeatable consistency on the green. The ideal choice for golfers who want maximum green-side stability, a longer putter with reduced wrist rotation, or the iconic Spider mallet shape wrapped in class-leading 2025 technology.
The defining innovation of the Spider ZT family is the precise placement of the shaft axis directly in line with the putter's centre of gravity. This geometry creates the characteristic toe-up, or "face-forward", balance configuration that sets it apart from traditional putters. Because the shaft passes through the CG — bored toe-ward with approximately 1° of lean and an onset point located 25 mm behind the leading edge — there is virtually no torque generated during the stroke. The face naturally stays squarer to the target line throughout the putting motion, which enhances directional control, reduces the need for compensatory hand movements, and builds confidence both at address and through impact. The result is a more consistent, repeatable stroke that works with your natural swing tempo rather than against it.
The Spider ZT Long's head begins with a high-density 303 stainless steel front section paired with a lightweight 6061 aerospace-grade aluminium back. This strategic multi-material pairing is the foundation for an exceptionally high moment of inertia (MOI): the heavy steel anchors mass in the face while the lightweight aluminium allows that saved weight to be redistributed to the extreme perimeter. Combined with four heavy corner weights and precise CG placement, the result is a head that is remarkably forgiving on off-centre strikes — maintaining ball speed, direction, and feel even when impact is not perfectly centred. At 470 g, the head is the heaviest in the ZT range, contributing directly to the elevated stability that defines the Long model.
The Pure Roll™ insert is engineered from a carefully chosen combination of Surlyn and aluminium, two materials that together produce a feel that is both soft and responsive. Across the insert face, grooves are milled at a precise 45° angle — a geometry proven to engage the ball immediately at impact and initiate a true, end-over-end forward roll right from the start of its journey. This eliminates the skid phase common with many traditional inserts, improving the consistency of roll speed and distance control across a variety of green speeds. The insert also provides premium acoustic feedback: impact produces a notably deeper, more premium sound compared with many competing zero-torque designs, making it easy to distinguish a well-struck putt from an off-centre one.
True Path™ Alignment has been a defining visual element of the Spider family since its inception, and it has been completely reimagined for the ZT generation. Thinly precision-milled lines are machined directly into the top of the 303 stainless steel face, spaced at exactly the width of a golf ball. This instantly gives you a visual reference to centre the putter perfectly behind the ball at address, providing a confidence-inspiring frame that guides your eye to the target line. The sightline system works seamlessly with the toe-up orientation of the head, making alignment feel natural and intuitive even for golfers who are new to zero-torque putters.
TaylorMade engineers developed a new and improved cambered sole geometry specifically for the Spider ZT to accommodate the widest possible range of player types and address styles. The curved sole profile is shaped to work in direct partnership with the toe-ward hosel configuration: as you set up over the ball, the sole's curvature naturally encourages the head to sit flush and square on the putting surface, making it easier to aim the face correctly without manual adjustments. This design reduces the visual and physical friction of getting into a good address position, freeing you to focus entirely on your stroke and your intended line.
The Spider ZT Long is the flagship model of the ZT range: at 46", it is the longest and heaviest putter TaylorMade has released in this family, and it delivers the highest MOI of the three ZT configurations. The extended shaft encourages a more stable, arms-and-shoulders-driven pendulum stroke with significantly reduced wrist involvement, making it especially well suited to golfers who struggle with excessive hand action or inconsistent tempo. The KBS GPS Custom Graphite shaft (210 g) provides the ideal combination of weight and feel for a long putter, while the SuperStroke Tour 1.0 2-PC split grip (81.5 g) creates a natural separation between the upper and lower hand positions, reinforcing the correct grip pressure and promoting a smooth, even tempo from backswing to follow-through.

* Toe Up (Face Balanced) — the putter is balanced so that the face naturally points upward/toward the target, with minimal tendency to open or close during the stroke. This promotes a straighter, more consistent putting path.
