The optically engineered True Path™ system features a wide white line with a contrasting black sightline running through its center. This high-contrast guide makes it exceptionally easy to align the putter face to the target at address, even under pressure. The white insert on the face mirrors the white alignment lines on the crown for a unified, symmetrical look that naturally draws the eye straight down the intended line.
The proprietary face insert is constructed from a blend of Surlyn and aluminum — materials chosen for their combination of flexibility and firmness — delivering a feel that is soft yet responsive, never mushy or harsh. The 45° downward-angled grooves immediately engage the ball at impact to promote rapid end-over-end topspin, helping the ball start on its intended line and maintain its path across varying green surfaces.
TaylorMade engineers built a superstructure that maintains the classic Spider Tour shape, then used thin wall undercuts to remove excess dead weight from the center of the head. The resulting steel wireframe allows precise control over weight distribution and CG location, pushing mass low and back to the perimeter for a dramatically higher MOI than traditional mallet designs — and over 700 MOI more than the previous Spider Tour generation.
Positioned directly behind the face, the HYBRAR ECHO® Dampener acts as a vibration-absorbing chamber between the insert and the body of the putter.
