The SS9S is a masterclass in blade putter design reimagined for the modern game. After many one-off appearances in the Hive, Robert Bettinardi remastered the Studio Stock 9, offering his iconic high-toe topline, mid-body blade as a production model for the first time in over a decade. Representing the closest lineup to Tour-level performance Bettinardi has ever produced, the SS9 Spud is a precision instrument built for golfers who demand the very best in feel, accuracy, and craftsmanship.
RJB made subtle refinements to bring this putter into the 2023–2024 Studio Stock lineup as a single-bend Spud neck. The SS9 head shape was re-engineered with a more narrow and compact heel-to-toe length, allowing weight to be repositioned in order to increase MOI (Moment of Inertia). Coupled with Roll Control™ face milling, the SS9 is sure to be one of the most forgiving blades in the entire Bettinardi production lineup. Milled from one solid block of 303 Stainless Steel, the SS9 Spud neck provides one-eighth toe hang — perfect for golfers with a slight arc in their putting stroke.
Every Studio Stock Series putter head is 100% precision milled from a single piece of 303 Stainless Steel. This special metal alloy delivers a more durable, responsive, and solid-feeling putter for supreme on-course performance. Each Studio Stock putter is paired with a custom Tour Grade shaft, a Lamkin Sink Fit Castleton Green grip, and a dual-constructed Castleton green and black perforated Studio Stock Series headcover.
After many one-off custom appearances in the Bettinardi Hive, the Studio Stock 9 returns as a full production model for the first time in over a decade. RJB made careful, subtle refinements to the SS9 head shape, creating a narrower and more compact heel-to-toe profile compared to its predecessors. This reshaped architecture allows the weight to be deliberately repositioned across the head, increasing MOI (Moment of Inertia) for better stability and resistance to twisting on off-center strikes. The single-bend Spud neck delivers one-eighth toe hang — a balanced setup that suits golfers whose putting stroke follows a slight arc, promoting a more natural and repeatable motion through the ball.
The entire 2023–2024 Studio Stock line is equipped with Bettinardi's signature Roll Control™ face milling technology — developed in close collaboration with the world's best players and the highest-performing putters on Tour. The face milling is scientifically engineered with an asymmetric groove design profile that promotes greater topspin at impact, getting the ball into a true, end-over-end roll faster than a conventional flat face. This rapid transition into a true roll reduces skidding and bouncing off the face, resulting in more predictable distance control and improved accuracy on every putt. Beyond performance, Roll Control™ delivers an exceptionally soft feel and satisfying audible feedback that gives golfers complete confidence at address.
Every Studio Stock Series putter head is 100% precision CNC milled from a single solid block of 303 Stainless Steel in Bettinardi's own manufacturing facility in Tinley Park, IL. The use of 303 SS — a premium, carefully selected metal alloy — results in a putter that is more durable, more responsive, and more solid-feeling than cast or multi-piece alternatives. This single-piece construction ensures complete consistency from one putter to the next, with no tolerance variations introduced by assembly joints or bonding materials. Each Bettinardi putter takes approximately 90 minutes of machining time, reflecting the uncompromising attention to craftsmanship that defines the brand.
The Studio Stock series is completed with Bettinardi's proprietary Diamond Blast finish applied to the topline and body of the putter head. This specialized surface treatment creates a matte, glare-resistant appearance that eliminates distracting reflections from the top of the club at address — a critical detail that top Tour players demand. In contrast, the face and sole are left with a high-polish treatment, lending the putter a refined, luxurious visual presence on the green. The combination of the matte crown and polished face creates a distinctive two-tone aesthetic perfectly matched by the Castleton green and black Lamkin grip and dual-material perforated headcover.
